hmmm, let's see...... . Shaq: 22 pts, 10 rbs, 3 blks in 41 mins Yao: 18 pts, 8 rbs, 2 blks in 30 mins Rockets win KG: 19 pts, 7 rbs, 0 blks in 43 mins Yao: 22 pts, 15 rbs, 2 blks in in 37 mins Rockets win J.Oneal: 31 pts, 4 rbs, 3 blks in 41 mins Yao: 17 pts, 12 rbs, 1 blk in 36 mins Rockets win Tim Duncan? well, let's just say that he's still on the list. as for the others, cross them off. overall, yao's productivity and output was on par or exceeded his counterparts, and he did it in significantly less minutes. and most importantly, he helped the rockets secure the victory. who's next? (besides tim duncan)
Too much high expectation here and in his homeland! You know, the more expectation given on Yao the more suffocating pressure on his back. Please take it easy! Give Yao more time, more patience, not rigorous requirement.
Yao's pretty much unstoppable one-on-one now. when he figures out how to beat more physical defense that fronts and double team like Heat deployed tonite, then we'll talk.
silentfaaaaaaaaaaaaan, well I think it's gonna be a... long... long... time. But you're a rocketfan. (to the tune of "Rocket Man" obviously.)
Zip him back up. He sucks. Sorry, just couldn't resist. One or two great games won't do it. It's about consistency. He's been playing better lately, but if you REALLY want to see how an MVP plays, buy League Pass and watch KG play. There's no comparison.
I sure did. Hey, Yao is not playing at KG's level - nor should he be at this point of his career. This thread is contemplating Yao for MVP. And I'm just pointing out that KG is playing on a different plane. He's 4th in the league in scoring and 1st in rebounding. Yao's only in the top 10 in shooting percentage.
So will you admit that Yao is at least playing better than you expected and predicted? Will you admit that you were absolutely wrong?
