Makes me think they want a few millions bucks.

    Which they will probably get.

I hope so. That won't pay for the damage done and loss of their loved one. I hope they get as much as possible.

I would need to learn more about the evidence but blaming the “training” from the Dallas PD seems like a real stretch.

Well maybe we differ on that.

That will all be Dallas County tax payer money.

Millions of dollars will be taken away from the public good and going to line the pockets of lawyers (40%) and the family.

It's a real tragedy but I don't know if anyone "deserves" to receive that kind of windfall because of it.

There are recordings from that night that are not being released. It’s interesting what gets released, or leaked, and what doesn’t.

Okay, but maybe next time make sure one of your black taxpayers doesn't get murdered by a psycho county employee, also maybe just take it off the ****ing tab for Jim Crow.

Sure, and I've done this before when i was tired, but the thing is, when my key/swipe card doesn't work, my first thought is to then check that i'm at the right room.

While I agree with him based on what's been reported, what does court ethics say about this DA-elects statements to the public? Doesn't it taint the public/jury perception by biasing them?

DAs, in their capacity as elected officials, comment on cases all the time in ways that us laypersons would probably interpret as prejudicial. The only person arguing against it would be opposing counsel, and they'd probably need a strategic reason to do so.

Interesting that it's Murder instead of Manslaughter. So does that means they have to prove intent and therefore this couldn't have been a reckless accident (thinking she was in her own apt)?

They must have solid evidence that she knew very well she wasn't in her apartment and maybe even new the victim beforehand?

    Relationship gone sour maybe?

2nd degree Murder doesn't require intent. In this case it was reckless behavior.
