I didn't see this posted anywhere, so hopefully it isn't. I happened to catch this at the bottom of a page on the Chronicle's Web site. (I almost didn't read down that far; it's at the very bottom.) I believe this is one of the contributing factors to the Rockets' success this year. It certainly doesn't hurt. It's also one reason why I wonder if Dallas will ever be able to win it all. Cuban seems to be taking the Portland Trailblazer (of a few years ago) approach to things, constantly bringing in talented players but never able to make it to the top. Hopefully, the consistent starting lineup will continue to improve.
It occurs to me that someone might like the link: http://www.chron.com/cs/CDA/ssistory.mpl/sports/2369077
haha... remember "is jeff van gundy right for this team?" somebody, very respectable poster, was like "man i said all along we needed mike dunleavy..." some people hit the panic button a tad early eh? jeff van gundy is really doing a good job. we are winning games that we used to lose... i wish we'd put up more points, but with the people we have now that might be tough, but the D is solid, so winning is winning...
Correction, when the Rockets play poorly it's 70% Francis' fault, 20% Cuttino's fault, and 10% Van Gundy's fault.
The consistency in the starting line-up is definitely a plus. I think this is more related to being relatively healthy thus far than coaching (Rudy would have loved to keep the same line-up too), but it's nice to see JVG get guys into well-defined roles & minutes. we have major inutes going to SF, Mobley, JJ, & Yao, and a decent offense/defense platoon at the 4 with Cato & MoT. The more they play together, the better they'll be towards the end of the season.
simple fact: Yao should take at least 20 shots per game. then everything will be ok. our guards must show the confidence to keep feeding him the ball even if he misses a few. period.
