I really like all the guys on our team right now. I just want to upgrade it.

I would like a better power forward..like Rasheed..but he is just crazy! I don't want us to trade for him...

I do want us to try to sign him in the offseason.

But Taylor and Cato have been good.

    Weatherspoon and Nachbar for Rasheed..sure!

Cato is just too much liability on the offensive end. Wallace and Ming could be cornerstone of a dominating championship team. You could throw any number of guards with them and still win.

No. I like Rasheed Wallace, but am not sure how well he'd get along with JVG. Rudy or someone like Chuck Daly or Phil Jackson would be a different matter.

Poll note: I was about to click "yes", thinking Ben was the Wallace in question (and not knowing Big Ben's contract situation). Bill Walton and Maurice Lucas all over again, was my thought.

when espn.com has those weekly nba chats on the weekdays, we should all ask what the chances are for the rockets landing sheed in a trade or in the offseason

That team was one Scotty Quitten turnover from the finals.

Barkley was the only thing holding that team together. It was his injury that officially sent the Rox into rebuilding.

That being said, this 04 team is as talented as any team. We have the peices and they are starting to gel. Why rip it up now? We have a good shot at the playoffs and if you make that change, it might throw off the whole team just long enough to take us out of the running. Then there is a good chance Sheed would walk this summer after a failed playoff run. Too risky for me.

I'm not so sure. It looks good on paper but two dominant low post players can really bog down the offense. Remember how boring Barkley and Dream were...and they shared the ball. But we just dumped it inside while everybody else sat around and watched. That's when they enacted the 5 second back to the basket dribble rule.

I'm not sure Wallace and Yao would make a good combo with their opposite personalities.

The difference of course is that Olajuwon and Barkley both lived in the low post whereas Yao can play High Post and be effective and Wallace can bring his game out to the 3pt line. Clearly they both are good in the low post but their versitility in spacing on the floor is what would make them work together.

That "sat around and watched" was in direct correlation of Rudy's offense... That wont happen with JVG. Players are required to move.

Rasheed likes our back court duo and he loves to play with a dominant player like Yao, and from what I heard that Sheed and Cat hang out during off season. I really think that Rockets is his first choice! But then again he will hit les with luxury Tax unless he will unload someone from the roster.

George(Houston,TX): Hey Chad,do you think the Rockets have a chance in landing Sheed to Houston?Or they need someone else that could help? They need help and Cuttino and Cato are'nt doing much. How about trading them for Sheed!!

Chad Ford: I think Sheed would like to play there and he'd be a good fit on the team. The problem is money. Unless the Rockets are willing to trade Steve Francis is return, I can't see the Blazers willing to deal with them. Cuttino and Cato aren't going to cut it. They won't have enough cap room to sign him this summer.

So . . . the big question. If the Blazers offer Sheed for Francis, straight up, do we do it? (plus whatever filler and loose change is necessary to make it work $ wise).

I'm torn. I really am. That's a tough, tough call. As down as we are on Francis, remember how upset we were with Kenny Smith, back in the early 90's. We would have have KILLED for a quality pg. Hakeem could get things done with a scrub point guard. But Yao is no Hakeem.

    Then again. Thoughts?
