The Warriors game really opened my eyes. He is a very smart player, and appears to be a better shooter than Trev.
He is better than Ariza this year but Ennis is still missing a fair amount of his switches. I think most people finally agree he is helping this team considerably but that will get better as he becomes more familiar with the system.
Btw I would also point out that Moute has only played 4 games this year, Anderson is shooting 22% from 3 and got benched 5 games ago isn't even in the pitiful Suns rotation and Ariza is terrible this year at his career low in shooting.
2 of those lmamm games are against us unfortunatelt and we lose to them both where he was locked on Defensively
Tired of Stephen A Smith repeating of Trevor Ariza, Luc Mbah Moute. Does he watch the Rockets play at all, Does he watch Gary Clark a Excellent defender, Rebounder, Shot Blocker. James Ennis a hustle, runner, good shooter from 3. Maybe Daryl can find a excellent SF defender, shooter in trades. To add to the Rotation.
I mean, If the guy continues to shoot 41% from three he is going to be very tough to replace. He plays tough defense and is an ELITE three point shooter so far. Unreal find by Daryl Morey and staff. Impressive work by James Ennis in the offseason. Those rainbow threes from the corner are cash money...
Ennis has been playing better and more consistently. Would still swap him for someone like Stanley Johnson.
If we had kept Trevor and Luc—and particularly if we had paid $20M to keep them—every single pundit and poster who has been blaming the Rockets’ troubles this season on the loss of Trevor and Luc would be blaming Trevor and Luc. Every one.
Ennis has really settled into the Ariza role. He still has a missed rotation or two every game, but evidently, time will fix that with him. Shooting the ball decently as well. Similarly on defense, he has a bad air ball a game. But that’s ok as long as his make/miss is good enough. His on-ball defense is what we’re really starting to see. He’s not fouling as much anymore (at least he’s not being called for it). He’s not the defensive technician Ariza is, but he’s chaos under control. A lot of energy. Like Corey Brewer in a bottle. Like a button-masher that pulls off moves on purpose. Between Mennis and Clark, the Rockets have found their replacements for Ariza and Luc. And Ennis and Clark’s production could soon match the departed duo when they were Rockets. Honestly, the roster feels set. Not sure why the Rockets would trade depth for an upgrade in one position. Especially since it takes time to develop defensive chemistry with new players. If the concern is quality emergency depth for if a big man or CP3 or Harden go down, what kind of quality player would accept a role like that? You’d have to get a Brandon Knight- or Marqueese Chriss- level player ...
I don't think there will be any "swapping" of 3&D players, but I think it's obvious that Daryl Morey will look to ADD one to compete for minutes in our current mix, probably using some form of Marquese Chriss + One... Tucker Ennis (Mystery Man) Stanley would be a nice fit here... Clark Green
Trevor Ariza shoots those fading away to his left 3 pointers. I honestly got sick of his bad habit. Ariza shoots with no rotation spin on the ball. It is extremely refreshing to watch Gary Clark shoot, excellent rotation spin when he shoots, James Ennis with his rainbow 3s are fun to watch, his shot is rare, especially rainbow 3s.
