Are Rockets home playoff games this year going to be on Pay-Per-View?

With the decline of the Suns and the Blazers, plus seeing this team make big enough strides to truly believe we will make the playoffs this year, I ask this.

also, Do any NBA teams still use PPV in the playoffs anymore. I know the Spurs dont. If I recall, only the Suns and Blazers did in the late 90s as well.

I hope its a new era now where PPV isn't considered an option.

No. There will not be any Rockets playoff games on pay-per-view.

    Hope that helps...

i wouldnt be mad at them if they had to in order to get fans to actually sell out the toyota center during the playoffs.

in the words of vernon maxwell in given an oppurtunity to speak his mind about houston not selling out the home games during the playoffs of the 94 championship year:

"Our fans are the worst. To hell with them."

    agreed.

if the home games dont sell out during the playoffs then the games should be on pay per view. if the games sell out, then it should be free. for real.

Don't the Rockets have to have some sort of cable contract to be able to put games on PPV?

With the advent of satellite dish in the mainstream now, and the LACK of an agreement with time warner (who was the sole distributor the last time the Rockets were in the playoffs), I doubt they'd be able to swing PPV even if they wanted to.

Plus, I have a feeling the new NBA TV contract essentially takes out locally-produced broadcasts during the playoffs (thus, TNT/ESPN/ABC is the ONLY station that will be showing the games in both cities).

If anybody lives in Dallas, or another NBA playoff city, please confirm this... after all, we haven't made the playoffs since the 90's.

Well, I got the NBA League Pass this year, but from the previous years, most of the playoff games were on TNT and ESPN. Not sure of this year if they will show playoff games on NBA League Pass.

no, beliving that they arnt going to make the playoffs is being pessimistic, and beliving that they are going going to be in the playoffs is being realistic. We are honing in on 5th seed as of now and its past the midway point of the season. Unless the rockets play sub .500 for the rest of the season we will make the playoffs. And i think its REALISTIC that they will be above .500 for the rest of season.
