This is the kind of production you can justify as a late first round pick without hesitation

By most analysts he was always worth the 1st, but because of his brother and some people believing he was a terrible tackler he dropped.

This was a coup in terms of talent in the third round. Even though the Texans had no 1st or 2nd round picks, they landed a likely defensive rookie of the year / possible pro bowler.

Mighty good drafting by front office. Kudos all around draft.

I wanna hear what @Rudyc281 has to say. As the 1 and only person who voted against this draft pick I'm curious lol.

He's on pace to have an Earl Thomas like rookie season, who had 5ints, 8 pdefs and 76 combined tackles during his rookie campaign, 14th pick in the first round.

It's amazing in one off season we completely changed our safety look and that has had a dramatic effect on our defense. I thought bringing in Honey Badger was the winning move, but converting Jackson and drafting Reid have proven to be just as important. Getting Hal back is just icing on the cake.

Here's hoping Reid keeps it up--that pick six was a game changer and maybe even a season changer for us.

I was thinking the same thing... it really showed against the RedSkins. All of the guys made big plays in that game and Safety has become a real strength in this team and we might have the best depth at safety in the league right now.

His production is as good as most stud DBs and safety’s picked in the top 15.

    But I get your point.

Guys playing like a bonafide 1st round pick no question about that.

    Great great draft pick.

Now Gaines needs to go find some damn offensive linemen and give our best player some freaking time to throw the ball.

We’ve all seen what he does when he has protection.

Draft, FA or both just revamp the whole dame thing.

Only guy worth keeping is Fulton everyone else needs to be cut or put in backup rolls. Their not starters. Nick Martin included, he’s just not that good.

Now we just need to hit on a CB in the draft as far as DBs are concerned.

Badger, Reid, Hal, and KJ. Hard for any team to top that at safety.

I've been saying it all year, Reid was a stud... and he and Cunningham will be the cornerstones of the Texans defense for years to come. They are both tackle machines.

While I agree that adding the Badger and Reid made the defense better, I think the biggest improvement for our secondary has been a healthy Watt, Clowney, and Mercilus.

Agree, and I would add the further development of Dunn, Reader, and Covington has also had a positive impact.

Justin has allowed me to break out the #20 jersey with the phonetically same last name, I bought way back in the day. Thank you.
