Most of the time SAS is a complete clown. But sometimes, he's actually pretty entertaining. Dude could have a career in the WWE if he wanted.

all screaming aside, he does make a good point about this "max contract" thing. Franchises now are so afraid to let go of "all-stars" that they're willing to pay crazy money to players who really aren't game changers. It's somewhat understandable for smaller markets but it's at the cost of making the actual team better. Max contracts - LeBron, Harden, Curry, Durant, etc. Being just an all-star is crazy overrated these days.

I agree, but a lot of the time they're paying for the "potential". Presti gave Oladipo a big contract and everyone thought it was huge overpay (probably Presti thought so himself since he traded him), but now Oladipo has actually outplayed his contract and is worth more.

Chris Bosh is the perfect example of this.

The Heat threw a max contract to him out of desperation and the only way the "lucked" out of it was because of his blood clot issues.

Hindsight is always 20/20 when it comes to these guys and those types of contracts.

OCT 31 2016 Signed a 4 year $85 million contract extension with Oklahoma City (OKC)

What if he asks for a max now? 4 year 160 mil or something stupid? What's his new worth?

fair point. The same potential they are banking on is also what will set a franchise back. I understand it's a huge gamble, but do I think Oladipo will be a transcendent player who is able to carry a franchise ala LeBron, Harden? I just don't see it.

I’m not one to defend the Wizards but atthe time Wall was offered the extension players were leaving often and these same pundits criticizing the Wizards were saying giving the Wall the extension was a no brainer.

The Wall contract is negative value but it is moveable. He is still a valuable player in his prime and in a different system would likely do well.

Out of curiosity, which teams do you think would have interest (and Washington Wiz should eagerly pick up the phone when they call)?

Wall needs a new environment. Sounds like he doesnt respect Brooks. Wall in MIAMI would make a lost of sense. Spolstra and Riley could probably whip him into shape.

He's dead on right. Wall isn't as good a player as Goran Dragic right now. And hasn't been....ever.

Agreed. Wall has been in the league for a while now, yet no consistent jumper or anything. He reminds of Derrick Rose minus the injuries. His game is all based on athleticism.

It would all be a guess at this point but I would think teams like Sacramento, New York, Cleveland, Memphis and Minnesota may have some degree of interest. It will likely be a market that cannot attract major free agents and need someone to showcase.

That's how it gets difficult. Sacramento's young backcourt looks pretty good. Cleveland's on the tank. Memphis has an expensive point guard already. Minnesota? Maaaaaaaaaaaaaybe. New York, maybe.
