The Suns are believed to be major players in the Kobe sweepstakes (the sweepstakes that are only held if Bryand ain't cryant in jail, of course).

The Suns could have a Top 4 draft pick.

The Suns have Amare and Johnson and other young studs and draft choices.

The Suns could be scary as soon as next year.

If Kobe heads to the desert without compensation and Malone gets another year older and GP, too, the Lakes will still be super because of Superman.

(If the Suns get tight on Kobe-money, D'antoni's former player, Boki, + TE is about equal to Marion's salary. Is he worth the cost to the Rox?)

Yeah. The Suns is promising. Maybe another Pheonix 'Nuggets' next season.

    kobe's likely to a Eastern team (e.g. Orlando,Washington), i think.

Is it just me or does anybody else feel that Phoenix would be a better franchise if they were dubbed simply 'The Phoenix Sun'. Sounds like a cross between a now-defunct Miami area women's ball team and a newspaper, but still.

AND they have Casey Jacobsen, former member of the Cardinal!!!

I'll go along with you on the 'Sun', but the Stanford 'son' is a bit ho-hum for my taste.

And for those unhappy with the Rice/Amaechi trade, Suns are also thinking of giving up a first-rounder so they can dump Gugliotta (whose contract is expiring) on the Jazz for the capspace.

    That's the price du jour.
