    Always on camera and mic that follows your movements matched with Facebook's unrelenting privacy violations - this seems like a crazy bit of tech to install in your home. I don't like any of these Alexa type devices, but Portal seems to be a next level invasion of privacy.

    I honestly don't get the purpose of this. Amazon and Google have already hit it with their camera-machine-things-that-do-other-stuff devices. I barely just got an Echo dot for free and I'm still not sure if I want to use it.

    I love just yelling at it to play music. It also made my old Bose speakers bluetooth compatible by having Echo plugged into it all times.

    Video chat is probably the most awkward form of communication that can exist, so no. Aside from the privacy concerns lol.

    Eh, probably not. I'm pretty trapped in the Amazon echo-system and getting out might be more pain that what it's worth. At best, portal is a redundancy of what I already have (albeit at a higher level), at worst, it's a privacy nightmare. Not enough upside for me to be an early adopter.
