I always confused the equator with ecuador because in spanish it sounded the same. MANY people don't know, that Ecuador's CAPITOL(sp?)city is a touristic attraction. Very high ratings due to the equator cutting through that city!
Can you believe, they eat guniea pigs in Ecuador? And why is it so cold there when it's totally south of Texas?

That's one hell of a cult of personality. For all the Populist rhetoric, Trump seems to be getting much more traction as a reactionary culture warrior. That his coalition of 40%+ shows no sign of giving up on him probably proves it to be sound politics.

I'm still trying to figure out how Steve Mnuchin, Betty De Voss, Mike Pompeo, and John Bolton figure in the calculus that's supposed to fight crony capitalism, make lasting peace, and liberate the American worker.

The thing is though his wife was born in the Balkans. You would think he would know. Wouldn’t anybody?

As someone from the Baltics, I find this both funny and sad :D Mainly because I think a president SHOULD know these things, or at least come prepared for the meetings. But I understand that these meetings with the leaders of small countries are just a formality and some lip service, nothing more. So knowing Trump it doesn't surprise me that he's being sloppy.

One produces Dragics and the other produces DMos. That's the main difference.

Just keep lowering taxes while raising the national debt to juice the economy, and they’ll follow him anywhere. As soon as the economy crashes, they’ll look for another savior.

Guinea pigs were a big food source for the Incans. Not much else native you can generate for food in the dry Andean high plains besides Guinea pigs and some dinky potatoes. Llamas are too valuable as pack animals to eat. It was Chuño and Guinea pigs to get you through the winter.

    Ehhhhhhhhhhhh this is true everywhere.

I’ll be real here. I know exactly which ones the Balkans nations are. But I had no clue Lithuania, Latvia, et al. are called the “Baltic” nations.

I guarantee you that most Europeans don’t know **** about Missouri or Louisiana and could not point them out to you on a map.

Obviously as @CCorn said, there’s a difference between the average joe and POTUS.

But the “Americans don’t know geography” thing isn’t really applicable on this topic.

And one produces both Bojan AND Bogdan Bogdanovic and they likely want to hurt each other...

I just assume he would be briefed on these things. I imagine there are world leaders that wouldn’t know the difference between the rust belt and the Bible Belt

It must be tough not knowing whether to be afraid of Russians or Turks.

Since his wife is from there he should know. But maybe that’s me. If my wife is from the balkans(actually my family is there. I am talking generalities ) I would know something about it.

Americans can't even identify the states correctly, let alone know a damn thing about Eastern Europe.

    https://www.movoto.com/blog/novelty-real-estate/where-are-all-50-states/

This is just another example of how wildly unqualified Trump is, but we all knew that before.

One has historically been threatened by the Russian Empire and the other, the Ottoman.

Who has been threaten by the Russian Empire? If you said the Austrian-Hungarian empire then I agree. Right now Russia is moving in on Region as America lessens its influence in the region Though. Historically it has has been Ottoman and Austrian Hungarian empires.

It was a reference to the geographically challenged re: Balkan vs Baltic.
