For good reason, I normally turn my nose up at animated sequels. Toy Story is the rare exception because each additional movie is better. It's not a crass attempt by Pixar to milk the success of a previous movie. I bet this is the best one of them all.
i may be the only one who doesn't like the toy story series. didn't like it as a kid and don't like it now.
I wonder what story it is they feel like is left to tell. The original 3 was so perfect the way it wrapped up the toys relationship with Andy. There can't possibly be anything left to tell there.
A red dead redemption type story where Woody is trying to rescue Bo Peep after she went missing in the third movie.
The incredible part about The Incredibles franchise is how they are so entertaining and perfect without having any debbie downer moments. Toy Story is not that, lol.
I like to predict...but I have no idea where this is going. Here's my stab... The focus will be on what is a toy. So for example, that spork has just become a toy, but doesn't know how to deal with what he is. And he has to come to grips with his new life. The underlying message will be either self discovery as to who you really are ( adolescence ), or dealing with change. So the toys will be forced to deal with change in the movie. The spork will meet a reckless woman toy who he likes and chases, and who can't possibly be good for him, but they end up together with the idea being that whatever works will work.
Yeah, they wouldn't put out a "Jurassic World: Lost Kingdom" type sequel (i.e., pointless, waste of time). The franchise is too beloved to screw it up. With this and Lion King, Disney gonna be rollin in the dough re mi this year.
