Why we played so well last year?

It's simple, Harden wanted the MVP, Paul, Capela, Ariza, and The Prince all wanted to get paid. Everyone seems content and without the Butler trade happening we can just hope for the best...but damn CP3 looks like he's ready for a SS check, wtf?

Harden not close to being last year.
Paul seriously looks like a role player
Ennis a scrub masquerading as a starter
    EG inconsistent.

It was fairly obvious the Rockets would take a step back after adding Melo, Ennis, and MCW. I remain mystified how many people tried to spin that as a positive.

What I underestimated was the chemistry and the swagger the team had last year. They always thought they could win, no matter the score or situation or opponent. I thought that would remain the case with Harden, Paul, and Capela still in the fold, but I was wrong about that. This team looks nervous to just be on the court. They have zero swagger. They look like they know they're going to find a way to screw up.

MVP Harden can make any team top 3. If Harden was playing at an MVP level, I have no doubt everyone else would be along for the ride.

I don't think this team is a Harden MVP season away from being Top 3 in the league, but you're right. It's underrated right now how underwhelming Harden has been. He hasn't been bad, but he isn't elevating the team either, which is what we have come to expect.

Chris is obviously injured, hopefully not washed...James is just not as hungry as he was last season...new guys have been disappointing so far, Melo's presence and trade talks probably got in Gordon's brain/mind, Bzdelik left...i guess everything went wrong so far.

But the players need to respond on the court, there's no trade we can do that can single handedly turn this team back in what it was 5 months ago, we need Chris to get healty, James to lead his team, upgrade the roster here and there, get Jeff B. back as soon as possible...

    We miss Ryno's spacing.

Yep. Was absurd to think there wouldn't be a dropoff when you replace Ariza and Moute with Melo, Ennis and MCW in addition to CP3 being a year older and losing Bzedik. It's obvious there would be a dropoff but being 3 games below .500 is crazy.

He should be more hungry if anything, it's time to win rings, he has the individual accolades already.

    Paul hurt

Harden spent the off-season partying and getting fat

Clint got paid and took it down a notch

No clue what is wrong with EG

It all starts with our superstars. Paul and Harden have been horrendous. They have been trash.

everyone over performed last year and then cashed in. poor fertita got swindled by these guys on the court. Dont blame them, but seems offseason priority was getting the biggest check, forgetting as a team they didnt accomplish **** at the end of it.

Ryno carried us in away games.

Harden still gave a **** about his MVP.

CP3 and Capela weren't on huge contracts and underperforming.

Lost Ariza, our ultimate glue guy.

Ariza and Luc's replacements have all sucked so far.

Yeah sure but how does swagger result in efficient shooting nights every game?

Spurs turned it over a lot and it seemed they did not want to win that bad and still won.
