Urgent Need: Hire offensive coaching consultant

D'Antoni said. "Really, our offense is anemic,I mean, it's bad. ... I don't know if we're just sagging because we're not believing in what we're [doing]. I don't know. We've got to find the answers. I can't tell you today, 'Oh yeah, it's this,' and we'll solve it tomorrow. No, we've got to work through this and figure out what we need to do"

I would like to recommend the following 5 offensive coaching consultants:

    Rudy Tomjanovich

    Rick Adelman

    Don Nelson

    Larry Brown

    Phil Jackson

I really hope that our future coach has never coached in the NBA before. Imagine if Tilman gives Morey carte blanche like Ainge got with Stevens. MDA is who MDA is and it's up to him to figure out the offense, luckily BZD is coming back for the defense.

My guess is Nova's Jay Wright is the next college coach to make the jump. It is just when will that be.

Don Nelson is now a gangster. I am sure Tilman approved!

Don Nelson definitely living the best life. He and his 8th seeded Warriors team will always have a place in my heart

What about offensive guru Chris Finch? :D

Sorry, he's with Mike's pal Alvin Gentry in New Orleans.

Jay Wright is the jewel every GM wants. Morey has discussed him for years.

Others are Shaka Smart, John Beilein, Kelvin Sampson, Buzz Williams and Chris Collins.

For anyone looking for a repeat of what happened with the Celtics, there is no one obvious out there that is very young and very good and works hard like Brad Stevens. The closest candidates would be Shaka Smart, Buzz Williams and Chris Collins. I don't think any of them have what Brad Stevens has.

Jay Wright would likely be good right away, but people forget he is almost 60 years old.

Alvin Gentry is an all time great assistant coach..... not so much a head coach.

Chris Finch is weird...... he is going to end up getting a head coaching gig at nearly 60 and set the league on fire and everyone will wonder why this genius had to wait so long, OR he is going to disappear and open a vape shop in obscurity with David Blatt.

I nominate myself for the position of offensive consultant. I can help keep Mike D’antoni and Jeff Bzdelik hydrated on the bench—they’re not getting any younger, after all.

I’ll be as much use to the team as any of these other names...the problem isn’t the offense itself, but the players finishing plays. D’antoni was a great shooter, but he sure can’t help the Rockets score open shots at this point in his career.

The O will be alright, as long as the guys can snap out of their group funk. Watching the team boink layups and barely contested shots is frustrating though.

With the Knicks, MDA's offenses were rated:

    11/12 - He only coached 42 of 66 (strike) games, but 17th
10/11 - 7th, however Melo only played 27 games as he was acquired at the trade deadline. They were starting to pick up his offense and that was perhaps Stoudemire's best stretch.
    09/10 - 17th, no great players, pre-Melo
    08/09 - 17th

My conclusion is that when MDA doesn't have great players OR has Melo on his team, his offense struggles.

    Lol
