"There's an old saying in Tennessee -- I know it's in Texas, probably in Tennessee -- that says fool me once (pause), shame on..... (long, long pause) shame on you. (pause, then rapidly) ... and fool me we can't get fooled again."
How was the in-game music? I know that Tim said they were in the process of changing it ('cause it's old). Also, do they still have the same crappy announcer? -- droxford
actually you never hear the words in the WHO song, which does thwart the iron of "don't get fooled again...." you only hear the music, which is really cool instrumentals. in-game music was very cool too.....much better...more kick to it yes, the announcer is still in play....
I went to my first game yesterday (Knicks), agree the rocket lifting off was pretty cool...though everything seemed to not get a reaction from the fans except the kissing thing and when the tried to get Bill Walton into the act.... Less music please during game play please... And the announcer is definitely annoying ("come on 6th man...")
I wish when Yao left the game in the fourth, the announcer would have said "Scott Padgett entering the game for YAOOOOOO MINGGGGGGGGG!!!" and the crowd would have given Yao the ovation he desrved.... Instead all the guy said was," Scott Padgett entering the game." WTF???? I used to love going nuts when Rudy would pull Dream out by himself so the crowd would give him the standing O.... maybe next time?
oh great all knowing seniors of clutchbbs - i have a simple question - please forgive me if this has been asked in the past twenty years - (this sort of intro seems pretty much necessary these days) oh wise senior members, may I bask in the glow of your infinite wisdom - can you please point me to the other thread where folks were talking about this? i mean I only check in here ONCE a day - surely there's someone out there who monitors this board 24 hours a day right? apparently there are MANY I haven't caught every game but I've caught the vast majority of them and I can't remember when I've ever seen the intros on tv or heard them on 610 this year. It didn't used to be that way - they used to play them every night. what gives? (here it comes - i'm like that pour hapless soul that wandered in here last week and posted a thread about his great new idea that Francis should play 2 - that was rich)
I've been waiting for someone to bring this up!! Last night was the first night they used the rocket, and I'm glad to hear that it got a positive response.
Does anyone know why Channel 51 doesn't broadcast the starting line-ups anymore?? Gah, I want to see it instead of these lame Channel 51 commercials. The NBA ones are cool, but not the ones by KNWS/McDonald's.
I picked up league pass this year and one of the first things that struck me was how empty our arena ALWAYS looks compared to most teams. On top of that, too many lower bowl season tickets are bought up by businesses who give away seats to apathetic customers and employees or white collar types trying to impress clients or associates. Remember Steve falling into the girl's lap as he dove for the loose ball? Walton: "Hey! We're having a conversation here!" That pretty much sums up my experiences in the good seats...
I agree. That intro was sweet. It shook the whole arena. Sidenote - the lower bowl was much more full (people in seats) from the beginning of the game onward than even the Minnesota weekend NBC game. I don't know if the added excitement of the intro had anything to do with it. I do know it would be pretty hard to "talk shop" in the club with that intro going on. *Tim ears perk up*
Atleast someone is buying the seats and going to the games. Stop complaining about lack of fans if people, such as yourself, don't like to buy a ticket and go. This isn't directed at you as I don't know where you live, but too many people get mad at Corporations and their lack of enthusium. This is all spotted by them from the comfort of their sofa.
Wow - really need to get to a game and see this. People said the Rox are experimenting with the intro right now - what else have they done this year? And, if anybody from the Rox is reading this - good job! This was something that needed tweaking and it looks like you've got a winner.
