Y’all acting like it’s a blow out. (I actually haven’t checked since 9pm, so I don’t know). But I’d like to see how it broke down by precincts.

The GOP love to use dead black men's opinion on their party since it's harder and harder to find alive ones.

You realize Cruz' wife is from California and Cruz was in Los Angeles 3 different times raising money for his campaign. The fact that he pretends he doesn't do that is where the real California bullshit in the race was.

Apparently race has been called with Cruz as winner, but still pretty close, 52-48. I'd say that this is a pretty strong moral victory for the Dems. Texas is apparently a lot more blue than most had thought.

No question, Beto lost because he is a liberal in a conservative state. If it came down to quality of campaign or likability Beto easily wins.... but Beto’s political beliefs are to the left of most Texans.

The fact that it was close as it was lets me know there's at least some sanity in this state.

The Dems had to throw the best looking, nicest, and most likely most electable Senate candidate you could possibly find against the most unlikable candidate available, one that even Republicans hold their nose when they vote for him. Also outspent by almost double what Cruz spent with nonstop adds. He ran the best possible, best funded, and hardest working campaign that you can run in Texas...and still lost. The closeness of the race isn't so much a blue shift as it is a referendum on Cruz himself. Even a middle of the road Republican on the likability scale would have won by 7-10 points. I think you can most clearly see it in the spread in the Governor's race. Greg Abbot is going to end up winning by 17-20 points. I think if there was a huge blue push in Texas, you'd have seen it translate a little more in the Governor's race too.

Those of y'all who are upset that Beto lost, keep in mind that a liberal candidate:
    -Pro life
    -Gun control
    -BLM
    -Medicare-for-all
Lost by 2 or 3 points, in Texas, to the runner up for republican nominee for president? That's insane, y'all.

Same goes for those of you gloating the win.
