ClutchFans Game Thread: Rockets @ Pacers 11/5/2018

Seeing Gary Clark playing during clutch time brings me tears of joy.

 

Harden haters always talking about he ain't clutch, 4/4 from the line and the 3 that gave us the lead.

 

and on the road, too.

Rockets now 4-1 on the road. 0-4 at home.

James Ennis and Gary Clark right now are our new versions of Trevor Ariza and Luc Mbah a Moute.

It's a downgrade for sure, but not a massive downgrade. They are holding their own and you expect they will continue to improve throughout the year.

Ennis is 28 years old and Clark is only 23. Last year's team needed an infusion of youth and Morey did a great job of doing so without compromising our identity.

 

Harden has been a much-maligned and underrated defender for the past few seasons, even by our own board.

That being said, he has very quick hands and a strong base, and is an crafty on-ball defender, especially when engaged.

He completely disrupted Sabonis' rhythm and performed well on anyone he was on during the last 3 or so minutes of this game.

I'm not expecting him to win any DPOY awards, with the load he carries it's difficult to always be 100% on both sides. HOWEVER! we need to give credit where credit is due--James Harden can play defense.

Also the Rockets' defense as a whole was solid today. I don't know if it was a quieter crowd or a good mic feed but I could hear the team communicating well on switches and out of timeouts. (except for that last Oladipo/Sabonis ass-screen play)

 

Clutch singlehandedly turned the season around and made the board a better place at the same damn time

 

Only 98 points when the rest of the league is averaging 130 ppg? Smh, looks like dantoni needs a Defensive coordinator AND an offensive coordinator.

What exactly does dantoni do? You don’t need to be an offensive genius to run ISO’s. Mchale ran ISO’s and he’s the worst coach ever.

Harden's defense was astounding! He shut Sabonis tf DOWNNN.

 

That was Ennis "during clutch time." Ennis subbed for Clark with 3:30 left, and hit a key three pointer down the stretch.

Not to take anything away from Clark's playing great on defense....and providing good 4th Q minutes.

 

I don’t think Ennis is a downgrade to Ariza

 

Gary has legitimate intangABILTY.

I really like Ennis game.

 

Gary Clark gets after it on the boards. PJ was huge on both sides of the ball down the stretch. Everyone mad at CP3 for silly mistakes but dude had 13 assists and a few big baskets in the 2nd half.

 

but , but.....Ariza.... something.... something....

 

I dont know it this is Dantoni's decision or Harden/Paul but this has got to stop.
