Man Curry is just 21 years old and led the NBA in FG% last season. I think there is a good chance he can turn into a very good player (All Star level). It was never a good idea to draft someone direct out of high school on to their hometown team. Can you even fathom the pressure he has been under? I hope the Grizz can get. Heck I would take a chance on just about any player still on their rookie contract.
The only player on Chicago's roster that I really want is Hinrich. He's a rookie with a 2-1 asst/TO ratio. Crawford's OK but has the same deal as Steve: shoots a lot, weak D, and will be wanting a big contract next year. Which is why I thought maybe a 3-way trade with Seattle, a team that wants and needs Curry and Crawford. Time for me to go do something creative. Thinking up completely hypothetical trades? Nope.
*Shudder* I could actually see Memphis landing him and then West somehow exercising the demons of the Shaq II comparisons and converting it into on the court production. A change of scenery is probably what is needed and I don't want to face Memphis with a motivated and highly talented Curry along with the Man-Child himself (wah! I got foulded and it hurt!... wah! :rolleyes ) . Maybe they'd get rid of Posey to get him so that we could actually beat Memphis one of these days.
Robinson's contract makes MoT's look like a steal. I would love to pick up Crawford though, I'm suprised that the Bulls are shopping him. He is the big PG we've been looking for to play w/ Steve.
I'm aware Robinson is a dog contract. I assumed we'd have to eat that to get one of the baby bulls for Cato. Trades have two sides, you know. They do already have AD who's supposed to mentor the boys, but I guess that's not working. If it's Steve going bye bye, that makes them a mean machine pretty fast. They might give up Heinrich, a Baby Bull, a dog contract and a lotto pick. We could maybe take Jay Williams and then buy him out. That'd be sweet. Rockets exit a big contract that's not a big winner and get some players with incentive to produce and support Yao, and a lotto pick. Bulls get an allstar that sells boffo tix with big dunks.
Oh, please. Most players bust. Curry's a bust. Maybe he'll work out to be a decent player - but if he were going to be a great one, we'd have seen more. People seem to hang on to draft-day hype far too long. Curry isn't what some hoped. If Memphis gets him - at best - he'll develop into a decent center.
plz sum body, what is the status of griffin? is he close to playing, and Marc J, is he looking ok in workouts? Thanx.
Curry has always been in horrible shape, and Skiles already has a summer program cut out for him. I really really doubt this report. All indications from Skiles and Paxson have been that Curry will be a Bull this summer and will be working out in Chicago with the Bulls' trainers. They'd be absolutely STUPID to trade him now. There is no doubting he's talented. It's full-proof. The only problem he has now is getting back into shape, and that can be done over ONE summer, and will last the rest of his career. You don't become overweight playing 38 minutes a night in an 82-game season. Personally, I'd love to get my hands on Chandler and Crawford. We'd probably have to take on all their bad contracts though. I'd give them Mobley and Cato for those 2, as well as take on a bad contract. Something liek Mobley + Cato for Chandler, Crawford, and Eddie Robinson? I think they'd need to throw in more contracts though.
Curry is still a kid. Extremely valuable. He hasn't even had a chance to mature yet. And as most us know that is a major awakening.
If the Bulls are giving up on Curry, or Chandler or Crawford for that matter, every GM in the league ought to take a hard look. Three years ago, the Bulls had Elton Brand, Brad Miller, and Ron Artest. And they gave up on all three. Three all star caliber players today. If they just stood pat, ..... That's not to say Curry, Chandler, or Crawford will also be all stars, but the Bulls certainly have an underwhelming history of developing their own talent.
