Not really banana, you can hit it pretty straight while not jumping, no fade or body movement. Remember the blue strip is not exactly a line drawn from the side of the backboard, it's a few inches into the field.

Bank shots are mostly done at an angle, and if you bank free throw shots it will mess with your regular shooting release. Some people have cold spots that they don't work on and try to improve on their other strengths. I practice free throws everyday and the best I can do is 7/10.
I am sick and tired of seeing our player clanging off freebies .... Smh We have the all time greats in Calvin Murphy, so why dont our players seek lessons from him? We often see me70 and cp3 a 90% career free throw shooter shoots 70-80% range. This mind bogling, it seems everytime once a player becomes a rocket, we see their free throw percentage take a huge dip.
