If he's 22 he would be born in the year of the ram. Just a minor detail though.

You are right. In chinese tradition, you are 24 once you pass your 23rd birthday.

um... actually that was how it was explained to me. there's a term "xu sue" in chinese where if your actual age is X, this other age is X+1.

    when i was little,
i always thought it was a ploy for parents to manipulate your age. like when i was 13 my mom would be like: "why don't you take more responsibility, you're already 14." and then later she'd be like "no way you can do such-and-such, you're only 13."

    haha...:)

Yao is 23, he will turn 24 later this year. The zodiac is a 12-year cycle; 12x2=24; Yao was born in the year of the monkey, when he turns 24 it is again (guess what) the year of the monkey. Why is this difficult?

    The order goes

    Mouse
    Ox
    Tiger
    Rabbit
    Dragon
    Snake
    Horse
    Ram
    Monkey
    Rooster
    Dog
    Pig

He's born in 80 which makes him a monkey, not counting what the Chinese call Xu Sui which not many people use any more. If he's 22 he would be born in 81, which is Rooster.
