We’ve been talking about gunning for the Warriors so long that we’ve lost sight of the challenges right in front of our faces. After the WCF last year, we never recalibrated—that much is obvious now. Forget the Warriors, we would struggle against the Kings right now! Our gameplan can’t be to switch everything anymore (at least not during the regular season), that defense doesn’t work against everyone. On top of that, we aren’t treating regular season opponents seriously. We aren’t game planning for how to defend them and we aren’t aggressive on defense. Offense has been terrible in its own right, no creativity. No plays. CP3 really set Chriss up for a solo post up tonight. Even DMA needs to look in the mirror and figure out how to rejigger lineups (been terrible, sit MCW forever) and when to throw in a scripted play. The solution is to approach every game like its your last (because when you’re this bad, it might be). We need to treat the Trailblazerses and Kingses of the world with respect by way of diligent preparation and we need to scheme how to beat them and give maximum effort from every guy on the floor. We can’t overlook anyone! The time to live is NOW. The time to win is NOW. Get Golden State out of your heads guys, we need to remind ourselves how to just compete at all—period.
