If they were still on the Rockets we wouldn't have won a single game.

Trevor would still be missing 3s here, but probably not missing those switching assignments on D. ;)

Cleverly disguised as leave town for the cash, play awful, get bought out and rejoin the Rockets thread.

Ayton is a beast. I love watching him play. Smooth shot, looks like he could extend his range to 3pt land, elite touch around the basket, great rebounder, good passer, looks like he already knows how to deal with the double team, good defender. He looks like a HOFer...hopefully Phoenix doesn’t ruin him.

I think Ariza would be fine if he were getting the same looks he got here (or in Washington - corner 3's form the secondary break). Whether he is making 3's or not, on a team like ours, he'd surely be a positive, stabilizing factor who can still contribute when his shot isn't falling.

Weird moves by Phoenix though. To sign Ariza then trade for Anderson. Signing Ariza at that price actually being the most puzzling.

Suns literally signed Ariza just to screw the Rockets over. He does nothing for them

Ariza is very dependent on the play and players around him. A lot of his "smart plays" are useless when you have everyone else playing pick up basketball......... I know Booker is really talented, but that guy is just playing pick up basketball.

Ariza noticeably lost a little bit last year, but he would still be a big help to the Rockets.......... I just wouldn't get my hopes up, because dude would likely pick the Lakers.

Agreed with the "bolded" - see his 1st stint with the Rockets.

We need to leak or bump up typical ******* Warriors antics to remind CLE how much they hate them.

Now Anderson is all alone on the Suns bench. Collect those checks tho!

In the meantime, Anderson pointed out that while such reports are part of the business, they still can take a toll on the players involved, their families and their teammates.

“It’s obviously a huge impact on your family,” he said. “You’re uprooting your life to a whole new city. Obviously, you have to get used to the basketball side of it, but I do think that is the hardest part, kind of getting into a new environment — especially if you have kids like Trevor does.

“You don’t want to uproot their life too much and change their circumstances a ton. You have to think about family first.”

Ariza, he said, will be fine in Washington and is familiar with that franchise. There were also reports that the Suns and the Lakers discussed moving him there, but Los Angeles was unwilling to part with anybody the Suns wanted.

“He knows the environment (in Washington),” Anderson said. “He’s been around so long. He knows the staff and a lot of players. I know he’ll be comfortable. You know, he’s a veteran, he’s a professional. This isn’t his first go around. So if there is anybody that will be ok through it, it’s him.

“At the end of the day, it’s a part of the game. It’s a business. I’ll always be closely connected with Trevor. We live close to each other in the offseason. Obviously, I’ll stay in close contact with him. It is tough when you build relationships with guys; you have history.

“These things happen so fast. It happens in a matter of a couple of days. It’s speedy, and it’s out of your control.”
