I'll put in $50 for every win over 60, even if we get Jimmy Butler

No, but ideally you want them to be roughed up a bit. They are the proven better team. They wouldn’t rest their guys against us, particularly if we’re playing well.

If we are rolling at the end of the season, sure I’d say just get it over with. But I’d rather face them In the second or third round.

Tipjar bets are because it's good for Clutchfans to get the cash it needs to keep running. Whoever loses, the money goes to a mutual cause.

Better than posters making bets with each other for ego stroking and getting toxic.

The original post stands even though I was drunk when I posted it but I will only donate the $100 ClutchFans if we do not win 60 games. If @Daddy Long Legs wants to do a a straight bet I'll do that too. I don't like gambling but it'll make the season a bit more interesting.

    It’s not better at all.

Who would make a bet in a lose-lose situation? Win: you get nothing. Lose: you lose $100.

Expected payout likely between $0 to -$50 depending on the probability you use.

So in reality the only thing that could overcome that monetary loss (for any logical person) is bragging rights which = toxic ego stroking.

Seems like you're making the case well.

If losing $50 is a huge source of anxiety for you, you don't make internet superiority bets. If you deeply analyze probabilities and expected payouts, you don't make internet superiority bets.

People do tipjar bets to just say "here's my opinion. If I'm wrong, I'll own it and give the site some money so we can have fun at my expense".

You asked "why the tipjar b#*!(&". You have received your answer. It's to keep it light.

The worst part of Clutchfans is when two or three posters turn a thread into an argument about who can predict the future more accurately due to their deep basketball knowledge.

Haha that’s a funny point. Maybe that’s the case. Maybe it’s not.

I think the best parts of clutchfans are the memes and the drama.

I disagree with you. But I like this post.

its even worse when they dont want to back it up with a tipjar bet thus making it obvious they themselves doubt what they argue the most and dont care about helping this site
