If that is the deal IDGAF, you do it.

Harden, CP3, Butler, Capela, Gordon...I think that's 5 all-star caliber players right there. Anything you get from Melo is gravy. Anything you get from anyone else is gravy.

We are going to be that spot that vets come to for rings to fill out our roster. We can win with that core.

I think that this would be a no brainer on both sides.

 

Even if Jimmy Butler comes to the Rockets, does the bench role players provide points when Eric Gordon leaves the answer is no. Do the Rockets have a a Real Defensive Coach the answer is no.
This is not a Clyde Drexler situation at all, because the rest of the roster is terrible. The Warriors have better Talent and Younger Athletic Players on their Bench with Jordan Bell, Kevon Looney, Quinn Cook, Andre Iguodala, Shaun Livingston can beat our bench easily.

 

If this deal is made then I expect that Morey blows up the team in a few years and could weasel some of the draft picks back by packing Harden and maybe Capela to another team.

I say do it. We don't know what players would be included. But, if it is Knight and Chriss, then I am 100% for it.

If the trade is for Gordon and the picks, then I would do that also.

If the trade is for Gordon, Tucker, and picks for Butler and others, then I would say no.

Look at it this way. In a couple of years we could probably trade Harden and other players get some of those picks back.

 

If we're just sending out trash...

and maybe getting back some 2nds... maybe.... Morey does better with 2nd than 1sts - and they're cheaper contracts...

It would cost 1 or 2 firsts just to shed the trash contracts...

Basketball isn’t like football where a first round draft pick is that big of a deal especially low first round draft picks

If that's where we are as a team, then not only shouldn't we be doing this trade for Butler, we should probably also be looking at trading CP3, Harden and possibly even Capela right? According to you, we aren't good enough even adding Butler and certainly not good enough without him....

Fortunately, our GM and Owner don't agree with your analysis.

The Warriors bench players are mostly scrubs outside of Iguodala and Livingston, they look better because of who they are playing with.
