38% and a bunch of DNPs. He was unplayable because of his uselessness on defense and unwillingness to shoot. Melo’s not a good defender, but he’s better than Anderson. What’s delusional is thinking that anyone would prefer Ryno sitting on the bench or pump faking only to pass it back to James/CP at the top of the key rather than Melo actually shooting the damn ball.
You’re right with PJ, Tucker is by far one of the least of my worries, i’d just like to see him at least give us the 8-9 points on days the offense was needed, like yesterday.
Trade = no worry Please make trade for them (not Knight contract involves please) Kyle Korver is available. 32-year-old George Hill and 33-year-old J.R. Smith, who both have only partially guaranteed contracts for 2019-20.
melo isn't even a better defender than anderson. his defensive iq is terrible. that goes a long way. but you can believe what you want to believe whats interesting is you're posting all of that and melo is going to go through the exact same issues. yea going with that logic, I'd pick the player sitting on the bench or passing it back to harden/cp3 over someone shooting an abysmal 20%. you know its bad when mcw has a higher %
You’re just assuming at that point. Melo isn’t even our 4th best player, but I don’t think there’s anyone on the board, maybe one or two people, that would agree that Melo is a regression over Ryno. That’s my whole point.
as of right now, he isn't which is my point. which is evident in how the rockets have started. but for whatever reason in your own eyes, he's absolved from any blame it's you that's just actually assuming bc just based off his play so far it isn't better than what ryno was when he was here.
I'm very concerned because I had high expectations. If I thought we were just aiming to make the playoffs then I would be ok. But this is not a team that wants to be a contender.
Ryno was here for 2+ years so i don’t know what time you’re referring to as “better than what Ryno was when he was here”. When Ryno first came here he was good, and even for a short period of time in the beginning of last season, he served his purpose. The version of Ryno i’m referring to is the version that we last saw which was totally useless. A player that loses confidence in his shot and is reluctant to shoot has no place on this team, especially since it’s literally the only thing he could do. Where am I assuming? Lol. My point was you were assuming when you said Melo would end up like him, i’m not sure what you mean by the “no u” type of argument there.
and yet you think a 20% absymal shooting melo at this point has done better and again is free from any of the blame of the rockets struggles
Tim MacMahonESPN Staff Writer James Harden (hamstring) will not practice today and is "very doubtful" for tomorrow, Rockets coach Mike D'Antoni said.
Despite the loss yesterday, I was encouraged a little bit by Melo and the defense didn’t look half bad. EG had an awful game and we were missing CP and Ennis. Who knows, we might have won had Harden not gotten injured. That said, we didn’t necessarily look very impressive. A long athletic defender who can knock down threes should be in order as well.
I am slightly worried, only because I thought we would be the ones scoring more points than most teams with Melo added. I think he should start, and am only going to really start getting worried if we don't see more of Melo on the court. I think we need his offense to keep up with some of the other teams.
I am absolutely TERRIFIED we are gonna be a sub 500 team this year for just these reasons. The League... Has sided up to more pace and the three ball. Thus our margin of advantage from even last year has eroded some. But to lose two versatile wing defenders??? Even Bzedelik couldn’t work miracles defensively with this group. I sincerely believe we have more than a zero percentage likelihood of going from first to worst where .500 is simply not acceptable. And I sincerely think Fertita was short sighted if he has anything to do with us not resigning luc and ariza. And I sincerely think Morey got seduced by his own bias for “Team USA” selections at the expense of other considerations like age. Finally I think last year’s stats on Ws when Capela Harden and Paul are on the court understated the value of Ariza and Luc. Defense is what got us past the Jazz and nearly the Warriors. And factually our pace was already down to “mid grade” in the 2H of last season. We were never a fast team folks. But we had defenders who could switch. SoSadSage
