    Why is that headline and article referring to "Trump Assassination p*rn" in quotes? Is it quoting from the NYT? Or are they just characterizing the fictionalized essays published outside the news section of the NYT as such, and then quoting themselves?

    Edit: Oh, I see an agitated reader on Twitter referred to it as "assassination p*rn", so that's what they went with. OK.

    Once again, Republicans don't actually care about any issue by itself.

    if it can be forged into a binding thread linking lower class whites and their affinity for white supremacy, and the plutocrat class and their affinity for never ever paying taxes and consolidating wealth, it will be something they "care" about.

    "but her emails" is exhibit 1 Billion.

    All of "mainstream" journalism needs to approach every issue with this in mind.

    Where is the outrage? People were upset over Hillary Clinton putting secrets at risk, but now Trump has done worse. We know his iPhone has been hacked. That is a national security risk and the very thing Trump supporters were chanting "Lock Her Up" about. Now the same folks who were livid when Hillary might have exposed classified material are silent when Trump did it through his own careless neglect. It was a flagrant disregard of our national security.

    The outrage was manufactured.

    The right has an outrage manufacturing industry which it uses to distract and amplify while pursuing upwardly redistributive economic policy in an actually outrageous series of criminal actions.

    This is its sole purpose

    I was going to respond, but then I thought you were probably being sarcastic. If you weren't, let me know, and I'll respond. Though most of my response was going to be about how none of what you said addressed the issue of Clinton's email server and Trump's hacked phone.

    When Republicans are rigging the votes by purging voter rolls, among other things, backed by their hack legacy judges, and collaborating with hostile foreign despots to hack elections it's not as simple as "just vote" and everything will be ok.

    We're at an inflection point where democracy itself is under threat- by the Trump party.

    This is by design.
