This is an old article from March but the ACA continues to poll higher. Republicans aren't even running on overturning it anymore The same thing happened with social security. The government takeover hype dies down and benefits kick in. I think another key in this is Democrats can start to crack the older Republican vote. I started fhis thread because news programs are taking notice of the change and Republicans changing their tone. https://www.google.com/amp/s/thehil...macare-favorability-reaches-all-time-high?amp [
Actually Republicans are just lying and saying things like “I support protecting pre-existing conditions” while at the same time sueing in order to remove pre-existing conditions. https://www.vox.com/policy-and-poli...rm-elections-preexisting-conditions-obamacare Republicans really ... Really think you Trump voters are incredibly stupid people. How does that make you feel?
Obamacare doesn't exist anymore bro. It started dying the second Marco Rubio sabotaged the risk corridors, and has died a slow painful death as it has been eaten away at. Republicans own it now.
But Democrats started running from it because Democrat voters were turning on it. That trend has reversed. Obviously die hard Republicans will always be against it like social security but middle road Republicans will probably shift
Hard to shift from something like ACA repeal when House members have voted 50+ times for the repeal, between 2010 and now.
Uh no. Obamacare was a good faith attempt to actually make healthcare work for the American people. It wasn't perfect, but it was a decent starting point, until the Republicans sabotaged it
Uh no. you're being delusional. The individual mandate was the poison pill by design. Anyone who is being the least bit objective knows letting the private insurance business run the zoo would inevitably be a failure. The whole purpose was to get pre-existing coverage. Once that hook was in, no politician would touch it. Now all the Democrats needed was the Republicans to swallow the poison pill, which they did. Now its only a matter of time before pre-existing coverage is dumped into the governments hands and we eventually go to a government ran system. After that, premium healthcare will only be reserved for the well off ... much like it always has been.
Yea, you are living in a fairy tale. Individual mandate was too increase the healthy pool, which is essential for the insurance model too work. If the goal was too just get pre-existing coverage, then they would have just passed a law saying that.
Republicans have conveniently changed their opinion on health care in the three month window prior to an election?
It is likely a flat lie to get re-elected, which if happens, we will likely see them change their mind back. Is that not the most likely scenario to fit the facts on the ground?
I read that the first time Its still more popular overall. In very red states like Texas its still popular to run against ir but in more moderate states Republicans are having to at least have an alternative
