I see on TV (foxnews, specifically) there is a bomb scare right now at a home owned by Soros. geee, that sounds so much like a rhetorical question meant to make squirm away from the logical conclusion... but the logical conclusion is logical: those 12 million people need to be normalized in some way so they can have citizenship, a path to citizenship, residency, or at least some kind of worker visa so that they can be present in and work in the country legally. The nationalists want to think it's some kind of viable solution to run the twelve million people out, but that won't make things better even if it was possible.
Not to quibble, but it has happened, and you don't even have to go back to Vietnam. If you're freaked out or scared and have an order to open fire, a human being can open fire. Hell, drone operators have taken out women and children fairly recently. But yeah, there's not much evidence that 45 cares about women and children (or men for that matter) that don't pledge permanent loyalty to him. #bendtheknee, b/c, you know, his doesn't bend so well anymore.
Well, to your particular question: they should be stopped, accosted, queried, and probably sent back, by and large. There is a right way to come to America. This isn't it.
I'm always a bit dubious about reports like this -- and not because I think the numbers you cite are wrong. But here's the real question -- how much can $5 a day buy you in Mexico? A lot more than in the states. And it also depends on where you are in Mexico. If you're in Mexico City, then that's pretty bad. If you are in some rural area, it might not be that bad, especially if you can live cheaply (live with others, etc.). Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying a Mexican is rich at that wage (obviously not), but you really have to look at what that local wage gets you, in that area. I think too often we think of $5/day in US market terms, and it's often not appropriate to the foreign market in question.
