I think I read a ref to this below. Don't know how reliable, but here you go. http://www.academia.edu/6394940/Lost_Boys_An_Estimate_of_U.S._Circumcision-Related_Infant_Deaths
Would parents be allowed to give their infants plastic surgery that the medical community had not yet widely agreed would have health benefits?
My now 33 YO son was not circumcised "at birth." We got it done later when he was about three. Poor guy walked around bow-legged for about 4 days. He's okay now though.
IMHO ,based on relatively perspective, a circumcision to a breast fed (healthy-stable) newborn infant (4-15 days old) is ideal. Due to factors like: immune system, rate of development, movement restriction, pain reliever, stitches, local vs. general Anastasia, healing time which makes a huge difference. but overall ,it's a small sacrifices when benched against STD ,UTI or cancer.
My son is days away from being born and so this topic has come up often for me. I found this video extremely informative. Glad I saw it.
I think the health benefits are negligible if you practice proper hygiene like washing your junk on the sink or use condoms. I've read horror stories about rabbis slicing a little too much and that's enough for me to wonder why it's still happening At that age...did he start to fully heal at 35?
