so are you saying ariza is that type of impact player that they'll need to shut him down in order to lose bc that doesn't go along with the narrative that mr 0-12 sucks

No. Suns got desperate and overpaid a aging SF that’s ok. Ariza is there to show the young players how to be professional and work daily.

When your team nears 50 losses. The coach will not try to over work a 34-35 year old player. They will say.. “ well we know you won’t get 15 mill anymore, go win a ring somewhere.”

If he would accept a buyout why wouldn't he have just signed for less money to stay in Houston?

I mean of course I'm all for this theory it just seems weird to me.

I don't think they considered it an overpay at all. its for a measly year. they're not tied to him for years to come

Could of paid Cousins 15 mill. I’m sure he would of taken it. Ariza took it as a lottery ticket. Suns had to spend it somewhere. I wouldn’t pay him that much.

all relative to preference. the rockets chose not to obviously and time will tell how the ariza replacement, whom the rockets still dont have will do

Someone mentioned after Ariza signed with the Suns, but I forget who. So the THOUGHT of this has been around.

Not only that, it's this bizarre wishful thinking from many of the same people who said Ariza was old and useless. WTF?

Oh yeah I know the thought of this buyout has been brewing since Ariza signed with the suns. It still kind of popped up out of nowhere.

If it wasn't for Ariza, we wouldn't have a Game 7.

IF we get butler AND ariza ..,. It will still take time to build up the defensive chemistry up to the point where it was last season .

Ennis , Paul , PJ , and Clint are GOOD defenders ..., yet the starters looked awful on D in the first half yesterday .

Maybe it's coaching , maybe it's the pelicans , maybe it's "tired legs"

Whatever it was last game .... the only thing for sure was that it was very disappointing.

If Ayton plays like this and ain't get injured they might be a good playoff contender. Ariza can't walk from that. Not right away.

Lol, why would Phoenix just but him out for fun? As if they won't still be paying him money, makes no sense..

Not only can I not see any truth to this, makes no sense to bring him in and not keep him, but lets not forget the fact that the person who signed Ariza isn't in the front office anymore.

The only way I can think of is if the Sun's are lottery team and they want to save some money. Say buy out Ariza for 12 mil instead of his 15 mil. So they save 3 mil. Rockets sign him for vets min or maybe even prorated 3 mil.

I don't it's that clear cut. You're not taking Joe Chi Chi's into account.

yes the suns are going to try and save a measly $3 mil for a guy they only have for a year.
