For some reason I decided to watch the Warriors get their championship rings tonight and display their banner. I just got more pissed off as I watched the charade. These should have been our rings and that should have been our banner. We were so damn close and it was literally stolen from us by CP3's injury and ref rigging. Damn, just damn. Every article I've read this season points to an expected decline by the Rockets. Everyone says our defense will suck and doesn't really consider our acquisitions or that our coaches will make adjustments. While Jimmy could be a game changing acquisition, I still believe the team we have now can be as dominant as last years. 1. CP3 has a year and second camp to get use to the team. He has to be on fire to win this year. 2. Harden is the MVP. He is in his prime and should be even better. 3. Capela got paid and should continue to be Clint with some younger legs backing him up. 4. Melo can be a force of the bench, he appears hungry and eager to contribute. Real firepower on the bench. 5. Gordon with Melo gives us the most deadly offensive duo on anyone's bench (I believe). 6. PJ is our enforcer/hustle maniac; his and CP3 heart drives our team. 7. Ennis gives us an athletic wing with 3&D skills, he's not Ariza or Luc, but he gives us some of those skills with better handles. 8. GG is our instant offense and spark plug, love his energy. 8a. Carter-Williams is our instant defense wing that could be excellent situational player. 9. Knight is an unknown, but if he returns to 80-90% he makes us really deep at guard. 10. Hartenstein is a big body that we can through into situations where we need a 7' with some decent skills. 11. Nene is our break in case of emergency big man that can still play on occasion. I'm not sure what Chriss, Zhou, Clark, etc. will bring, but there is some potential there. As I look at that group, I'm really excited about the season and how these guys can make the pundits look silly once again. This year's depth is better than last year, DM built us for the grind. Let's start with the Pelicans and show this league the REAL CHAMPS are in Houston and this year, we're going to bring that trophy, that banner, and those rings to their rightful owners--GO ROCKETS!!!
