Probably should have said Banksy and Sotheby's because I seriously doubt he would be able to pull that off without insiders.

    Legendary sh*t.

I wonder how it was triggered to shred right at that moment.

The value of the art probably went way up after the shredding. Now it has an epic story attached.

It is possible that Banksy was the one to trigger the alarm and destroy his own painting. The Art Newspaper mentions a hatted man in “black sporting sunglasses” who was “scuffling with security” after the shredding took place, which could have been the famous street artist.

It at least tripled - that painting is now one of the most famous pieces of modern art in the world.

Yes, and it looks like (on purpose or not) it "only" shredded half the painting. This is awesome.

Isn't that like one of his most famous paintings, too?

This guy is awesome. Too bad he did it to essentially protest high proce art auctions and collection (which seems to be what he's about), and he essentially only jacked up the price of the piece.

Part of me wants to say it's an epic middle finger to the establishment, but the other side says this guy knows what he's doing and he's a genius for driving up prices.

    Epic all around.

This guy reminds me of Howard Roark from 'The Fountainhead'.

With this latest evidence combined with this:

The evidence is pretty damn strong that Banksy is Robin Gunningham.
