He must be increasing his stamina, cause even in the second half, Yao was doing a good job of lunging at players that were tryin to get midrangers...both him and the other Rockets were making sure to rotate towards whoever received the ball.

He isnt the quickest guy on the court...but for his size he aint bad.

Another good defensive aspect I have noticed is that where Boki was so eager earlier in the season to get at his guy...he would actually foul them....he has that part of his game much more in control....his drives look more controlled..I hope he continues to get PT till he gets over his hesitancy on the court. We know he can shoot, we see he can slash, we see his passing abilities and now he is playing good team D...

I really think once Yao and Boki get consistently good at what they do....we will be unstoppable..:D

I know the pragmatists will say it is still too early to be this optomistic...but the overall play of the Rockets this past week has got me thinking we will no doubt do some serious damage this year.......maybe even second round damage. :)

Rocket are running hi-post picks switching to hi-low post with Yao on top of the circle against minny zone. It's a thing of beauty when they execute perfectly. I remember when Yao set a hi-post for Stevie, then set a pick for MoT coming to the foul-line, he then slipped to the low post. SF dribbled passed Yao's screen which forced Yao's man up, then passed the ball to mobley at right 3pt line, where he immediately fired it into Yao in the low post. Unfortunately the ball was tipped out of bound, but the execution was nearly perfect and Yao almost got a easy dunk. If they keep doing this night in night out, Yao will get a couple of easy dunks and a couple of foul line jumpers. Seriously, nobody can zone against the Rockets with Yao at the hi-post because he can hit 75% at the free throw line. If the defense collapse, then you have a couple of wide open 3pt shooters on the wing. JVG finally figure how to run this offense and starting to use all of Yao's offensive skills.

If Yao continues to play like this, the rest of the league will hire hitman to "take care" of Brendan Haywood for opening the Pandora Box.

Yes, now since the players are getting more and more acclimated to JVG's system, of course they're gonna produce better numbers...it was only a matter of time...

First of all, I think it's a sad attempt on your part to be funny. Secondly, please don't make stupid posts when others are discussing basketball. Thirdly, you're not even remotely funny. Finally, i find it offensive even though I'm not religious.

did you realize that your first and third point were the same point?

my remark, which was supposed to be just one frikkn remark was a simple little "woohoo" to the post of stats.

i am sorry for those who got offended on the behalf of those that are muslim. i for one, AM MUSLIM, and i understand the difference between a prejudice driven joke and a pun driven joke.

whats truly atrocious is how some of you have taken this guy's offense stats thread and my "awwwwwwwwwyeeeahhhshhhibbadibbawhippee. you are right, sir." remark and turned it into your own little mountain out of a mole hill as the world turns thread.

please dont do it again. this thread is about the rockets newly progressing scoring trends. end of discussion.

this game against the t-wolves reminded me a lot.
currently, houston is #27 in scoring in the NBA @ 87.1
Ws more significant than the amount of points.

Glad Van Gundy finally read our posts about playing to Yao's strengths rather than making him something he isn't, yet.

    High post...what a novel concept........

yea... one of those snag was from Cat. :D :D They both went after a defensive rebound, Cat clearly got the ball and Yao simply pulled it away... Cat looked pissed at Yao and Yao simply pat Cat on the back. Kind of a strange exchange between those two!

I don't even think its pronounced that way (though it is similarly spelled) anyways back on topic....the offense is a great compliment to our ferocious defense. If we can keep this up we should be playoff bound finally

I'm glad you said... "Yet." The high-post is supplemental. Notice his aggressiveness on the boards lately? He actually jumping at the ball and grabbing it!!! Not just watching it come to him or tipping it.
