    Jeff,

Please don't label me a "YOF" because I am not. However, since I am a scientist, I am a bit more picky on math.

Yao is 25-39 (instead of 25-40) from the field in the last 3 games which counts for a 63.7% shooting from the field.

And I just noticed that the Rockets are 12-4 this season if they lead after first quarter. Just amazing stats.

I have been watching the Rockets every game this season. I really like what I see from the last 3 games. JVG seems to have understood that Yao is much more effective if allowed going both high and low. And I guess that JVG is also smart enough to know (like mostly everyone on the board) that if Yao plays close to his potential, the Rockets are very hard to beat.

Very sad. I have never been to a BBS board for fearing of being labelled since 1986. This is a very strange board - a label-production board in USA.

    No worries. I don't label anyone. :)

Good call on the stats. I got my FG stats from ESPN and cc.net because ESPN had not updated from the game today. They must've been off.

Besides, I was a journalism major. Math drives me crazy!!! :D

After three consecutive strong games, Yao is now a forerunner of the Player of the Week honor. Isn't it amazing that just about 10 days ago we were still seeing all the 'trade yao' posts here and there and everywhere? :)

    Anyone please answer me:

Is there any trophy for Player of the Week? Will it be presented by David Stern?

They usually get a plaque and it is just sent down by the league and presented to the player either right before a game or during halftime. No one from the league attends the presentation.

I've noticed that for a guy who seems nearly emotionless at the freethrow line or just in general on the floor, Yao's demeanor after a shot or as he is running is one of three things:

    1. Absolute anger. He looks positively PISSED.
    2. Absolute exhaustion.
    3. Absolute hilarity. There are times when he is laughing on his way back down. I noticed that today after he lost control of that shot in the lane, in pounded off the floor and ended up rolling in.

I like his personality on the floor. He's balanced but you can tell he has his moments of emotion. He plays with personality and that is damn entertaining.

I think his elbow is still hurting from the nasty fall from Haywood's foul. I was at the Celtic game and Yao was contantly rubbing his elbow.

Dude, it's 1.2 billion. 12billion is twice the population of the globe.
