No idea if he is apart of it but I just wouldn’t be shocked if he ended being though just as cyberx suggested. The only untouchables are cp3, harden, capela and melo by default.

So how does that work? I don't see Rox taking on salary, our draft choices suck, and our 'filler' players are mostly never beens.
Other than Gordon or our other rotation players I don't see what we have to offer.

I think this is working in Morey’s favor.

teams are still questioning Thibs’s desire to do a deal...this is getting ridiculous

if Thibs is gonna keep handling negotiations like this then Layden needs to push him to the side and be like

let’s wrap this thing up already

That's it, Thibs. Keep a disgruntled player around and see how hard he works for you. 38 minutes per game? Yep. No problem.

I understand this is tough for the coach, but he needs to go to his own Plan B.

I hope this doesn't drag out forever. Why did Butler wait so long to demand a trade? By giving them a small window, forcing their hand, rather than letting everyone have the summer to think he'd cool off and want to come back after all?

Layden was only hired because of Thibs. Taylor will need to step in and do something.

A lot of uncertainty as to what the Wolves are going to want so teams don’t know what to expect. Don’t be shocked if an owner such as Mickey Arison reaches out to Taylor and tries to get a deal done between the owners.

The Nets were going hard at Butler earlier in the week and got nowhere.

I think the one thing that gets lost in all of this is the fact that Taylor and Thibs should be moving Wiggins for $.75 on the dollar instead of Butler, especially if the common goal is to get the Wolves into the playoffs. A team of KAT, Wiggins and vets will most likely miss the playoffs this season but if you keep Butler, move Wiggins for other pieces, there's still a solid chance of getting a 7th or 8th seed...or even higher.

Send Wiggins to some team that's desperately needing a "name" player or can roll the dice in hopes that Wiggins can turn the corner while taking back shorter contracts.

    Wiggins to Orlando for Fournier/Ross
Wiggins to Charlotte for Marvin Williams and Cody Zeller
Wiggins to Brooklyn for Allen Crabbe and Manimal

Make any trade to get rid of Wiggins and force KAT and Butler to work. If Butler still wants to bolt, then you either trade him during the season or let him walk for nothing. At least you can then clean house and rebuild around KAT with a potential to clear up huge capspace. But with Wiggins on your roster, you are basically F'ed.

There is not a single team in the league that would take the chance on Wiggins with that contract.

I meant to say Taylor, not Layden

I saw u say that Tuck was available in the right trade for Butler, what kind of package would that be?

It's entirely possible that Butler and his agent had been telling Minnesota this for awhile, but it was kept in house to allow Minnesota to do their due diligence and to avoid the circus. When Minny didn't move, Butler went public.

The truth is that teams need to be looking 2 years out with their superstar players. If you have a star on a 1 year deal and aren't competing, this is always how it will play out. At 3 years, you still have some time to potentially turn things around. 2 years is the goldilocks time to trade and get good value. In other words, Minnesota never should have done the Chicago deal in the first place.

No we have Harden as Curry's counterpart in that department.

Melo is a couple notches below both of them haha!

    We will have two crutches!

You are assuming we keep Tucker and acquire Butler.

    MCW? Chriss? Knicght?

? appropriate for all them. Living in la la land if counting on these guys to make a difference against the Warriors in the playoffs. All unproven on the team. All scrubs before they got here.

We are talking winning a 7 game series against the Warriors here, not some average playoff team.

More like -$1 on the dollar. Dude makes 30 mil+ a year till 2023. He's a negative asset. You'd have to attach draft picks and young players to get rid of that contract. Wolves are stuck with him and just gotta hope he improves enough to be somewhat tradeable a few years from now.

It seems the only realistic package that Rockets can do is Gordon/Nene for Butler (assumes Jimmy waives trade kicker) or Gordon/Tucker for Jimmy. That's in the immediate timeframe. Knight and Chriss can't be added to any packages (unless traded by themselves) until their 2 month deadline of being acquired has passed.

Rockets don't really have a lot of options. They definitely need a third team to have Deing shipped elsewhere.

For as good as they have been Jimmy is a player that GSW will have to respect on offense.
Trade deadline isnt til Feb. Still would have plenty of time to fine tune the roster
