There is one introduction that will not need to be made. If there is one thing you can say about jimmy, it’s that he fears nothing. You do not go head to head with Mr. Hilario. This brotha is on anotha level.
This is why I hate Hubie Brown. Dude is a complete moron. Nene didn’t initiate anything. He accidentally tripped on Butler’s foot and Butler took offense to it.
nene pushes butler off with his left arm. in that situation its not surprising butler took some offense when adrenaline is pretty high atm. nothing much there though, just two guys who dont want to back down.
Really? You might need to adjust your Rox coloured glasses somewhat. Nene elbows Butler out of the way. Butler objects by putting his hand on Nene and giving the puniest shove ever. Nene comes in with the headbutt, grabs the neck, loads up to throw. It's kind of all right there in the footage... No big deal - but seriously, Butler doesn't initiate!!
See, I'm coming to the exact opposite conclusion... When the initial rumors were floating, I was all 'hellyeah, bring Jimmy in - he's a huge talent!" ...but since then, everything I've seen and heard leads me to be believe this dude aint the brightest bulb on the tree - such as in this case... yeh, go head to head with Nene - i'm sure that'll work out well for ya... lol O/w I'm thinking his whole 'desire to win' is just lip service... if you were really about winning, would the teams at the top of your list be Knicks, Nets and Clips? Seeing way too many red flags with this dude... and our window is now - we dont have time to deal with no diva bs... we went through the 'Kardashian days' and now have a focused squad - lets keep it that way! ...imo...
Lol! Butler’s balls were bigger than his brains there. Nene had him clinched up and would have wrecked him. Nene is a boss.
The only thing that worries me a little is his knee. That, and if he's going to sign a new deal with Houston after the season, if we get him. The guy is a bit tough and has some attitude. Doesn't bother me because it's related to his fervent desire to win, and that he expects everyone else on his team to have the same desire. I'm fine with that.
I like this one where Westbrook put all his might into two-hand shoving Nene, and he doesn't even budge.
Thank you for your opinion kjayp....differing opinions are what makes this forum great. I too have some reservations in Mr. Jimmy; but it’s more about health as JB has only played more than 70 games in a season twice in his career. Same fears I have/had with Eric Gordon, Ryan Anderson and CP3. Some times we need to venture out of our plastic bubble and take a chance. The numbers below tell me Butler is worth the chance. https://stats.nba.com/players/putbacks/ 17/18 Jimmy Butler Play-type...................freq...........ppp..............NBA-percentile.....page found Iso.............................12.8%...........0.93............................67.0....................8 Transition.................12.0%..........1.40...........................94.6.....................7 PnR (Ball Handler)...31.2%..........0.91...........................77.4.....................6 PnR (Roll-Man)..........1.2%...........1.14...........................63.9......................5 Post Ups.....................8.3%..........0.89.............................56.4......................5 Spot Up......................11.8%.........1.18..............................88.8....................8 Cut...............................5.3%..........1.55..............................93.4.....................8 Off Screens.................2.3%..........1.18..............................83.9.....................4 Put Backs....................3.6%..........1.27..............................82.3.....................6 Catch and Shoot (3’s) CP3 (16/17 Clippers): 0.7 (3PM)........1.5 (3PA)..........47.2% (3P%)..........66.7 (eFG%) (17/18 Rockets): 0.5 (3PM)........1.2 (3PA)..........40.3% (3P%)..........56.3 (eFG%) Melo (16/17 NYK):........ 1.6 (3PM)........3.7 (3PA)..........42.5% (3P%).........56.9 (eFG%) (17/18 OKC):........ 1.9 (3PM)........5.1 (3PA)..........37.3% (3P%).........54.0 (eFG%) Mr. Jimmy (16/17 Bulls):.........0.7 (3PM)..........1.8 (3PA)..........41.0% (3P%)........55.5 (eFG%) (17/18 T-Wolves):..0.7 (3PM)..........1.9 (3PA)..........38.7% (3P%)........47.0 (eFG%) It’s the CnS ability that makes this work with CP3 & Melo & now Mr. Jimmy. If Tucker is sent out for Butler......I want a fighter/enforcer like Mr. Jimmy to help fill the void. Even better if Tucker is around. Butler checks all the boxes. Few players can do both PnR Ball Handler and PnR Roll-Man.....grant it a small sample size as Roll-Man.
Jimmy would have died. Yes, I'm biased, but Ne would have handled him without any problems. Here's to hoping JB and Ne are teammates instead of rivals this time around.
