Could you guys recap it please? Any news about another Tourstop in Austin or Houston? The Austin one was awesome.
I missed the first bit of the show where they had Mobes in the Hot seat (i think i missed it). They did show Mobley's entire day on tape before, during and after the Rockets loss to the Celtics at home. They followed him around everywhere. Showed his car, JJ's crib (where cat chills before shoot around). MObley showed his heart, he was really disapointed after that loss.
Damn, wish we know ahead of time he would be on! I really would have liked to see it!! Why the hell do they burry this show on late on Thursday nights? It used to be on at 7 or Tuesdays.
They didn't say why they moved it, but I suspect because of college basketball. The Mobley thing was great. And after the Boston loss you can see him try to laugh a little bit and talk about how he was disappointed they couldn't give a better showing, but he was really upset. I guess that's why he turned around and dropped 24 on them in Boston.
I watched this last night. I got lucky cause that was only the third time I have watched that show. Basically, it recapped the day that they played the Celtics here at the Toyota Center. It showed him at shoot around, then he went to a condo that he and Jim Jackson share. He takes a nap before the game and then heads back to the Toyota Center to prepare for the game. Mobley seemed very quite and relaxed. I was surprised to see him on there, as he doesn’t get much pub. Good for Mobley, actually getting a little run cause he deserves it. He often bears the majority of criticism (I admit I was one that criticized) but this year has really stepped it up offensively and defensively and has been the Rockets MVP thus far. Peace.
Mobley has his own house. But he and JJ also share a Loft over at Lofts at the Ballpark, or what ever its called right across from Minute Maid Park. I guess they figure its a convenience since its down the street from the stadium.
Thanks for all that recaped the show. Being able to catch up on Rocket's related news like this is one of the reason's I love clutchfans.net. I hope fans can continue to recap events like this. Interesting to learn the Cat and Jim Jackson share a loft. I guess it beats going through Houston traffic. Glad to hear that Cat was distraught after losing to the Celtics. Few things tick me off worse than seeing players laughing and joking after a loss. As a fan I get pissed when the Rockets play like crap and I feel the players should feel even worse than I do.
Sometimes you have to laugh or you will cry.. I have never doubted Cat's heart and love of the game...remember the season Steve was out alot because of the Menegiere(sp?) disease? Cat had two bad ankles....and still played his butt off tryin to help the team win..you cant teach heart like that..his play this year...and changing his game to play the VG way just shows me that my faith in Cat hasn't been in vain. He is a true steal...monetarily and otherwise..a true second round gem.
coooool never knew JJ and Cat were really good buddies but glad to hear that JJ is already fitting in off court
I'm just glad there's no more gay jokes. They weren't funny at all I was just too lazy to complain at the time. But now I am.
I happened to be channel surfing at just the right time last night, and saw the promo for the show, so I watched it long enough to catch Cats' piece. I usually don't listen to/watch Romey. Used to on the radio a year, or two ago, but just got sick of him. Much too arrogant, and full of himself. Anyway, there wasn't too much of anything interesting in it. It was kind of funny though, after their first piece, when they said Cuttino would be up after the commercial break, before they cut to com. they showed a short 5 second clip of Cat either leaving the Toyota Center, or arriving at home(can't remember which), but he had a (vhs)tape in his hand he said was of Paul Pierce, and Ricky Davis that JVG had told him to take home, and watch. With a disappointed look on his face he sighed, and said something like "work, work, work". I think he was halfway joking with his body language, and demeanor though. When they came back, the piece started with Cat at the T.C. playing a little light-hearted one-on-one with one of the staff there(older guy). C.M. did a little dribble fake , and then hit a pull-up jumper on him. Then the other guy took the ball, and tried to drive in on Cat a little, then turned, and put in about a 12 foot left-handed hook shot. Cat wasn't trying to block it or anything, he just stayed in front of him. After the guy made it, he was crowing to one of the security guys sitting nearby about how it was left handed(this is my weak arm Salley). Cuttino then said that they always play little pick-up type games like that after practice. That's a gym rat for you. Everthing else was just a few game clips. When I heard about the condo/house that Cat said he shared with J.J., the first thing that came to mind was the house that Michael Irvin, and some of the other Dallas Cowboys had back in the 90's. cough*cough*party house*cough*cough
