OK, I know I'm not being very realistic but Joe Torre is in the last year of his deal, so is Jimy. Can't we dream? Hell what would piss the boss off more than Roger and Andy coming to the Astros? Torre hasn't been respected in the last few seasons by Stienbrenner so why not come here? BTW I don't think coach Williams can get us to the next level anyway.
I'm down with bringing Torre over here not only because he is one of the best managers in baseball but to also piss off George and the Yankee fans even more. I do think that the Astros can win with Jimy managing the club. Baseball managing is the least involved managing position of any of the major sports and you can win with just about anyone as long as you've got the players.
The problem with Jimmy is that he manages too much, I hope he doesn't frustrate Rocket and Pettitte by yanking them every time they hit a rough patch.
Williams signed a two year extension in November. Either Dierker or Torre would be an improvement IMO.
