When was the last time a team with the Rockets record (43-45 wins) did not make the play-offs?? There is no time in the last 15 years when a 45-37 record would not get a team into the playoffs in the Western conference . I checked using cc.net's historical section. A 45-37 record would have gotten a team anywhere from the 4th seed(twice) and the 8th seed(once) in the Western conference. The average seed for a team w/45 wins in the Western Conference is 6.26th. For the lockout shortened season, I used win percentage instead of wins. The best record, since moving to the 16-team playoff format, for a 8th seed, was 44-40. We already have 44 wins and aren't even close(3games) to being in the playoffs. If you take the winning % for Houston against the east and west and then calculate how many wins they would have if they were in the east(that is 54 games against the east and 28 against the west I think) you get 45 and 11(well 10.7).That means a 56 win record which right now,with about an avg of 2 games remaining per team,only san antonio has a better record. ------------------ La vida es una experiencia unica,aburrirse es un pecado.
