Number one: I dont know if I could live anywhere where the majority of the population loves the Bills. I think I would die.

Number two: Weather.com says that it is freezing ass cold there all the time.

Number three: I've never been there and want to know if anyone has been there and/or lived there and what is it like?

    Traffic?
    Schools?
    Community?
    Cleanliness?
    etc. etc. etc.

I may be offered a position making slightly les than what I am making now but it would be a permanent position. I hear the cost of living is lower than Indy so the pay cut wouldnt effect us dramatically. Having a steady job, making good money, and being able to settle down would be nice. I know my wife would be happy with the security but we arent sure about Buffalo. Any help and suggestions would be great.

From what I hear.... Buffalo blows.

Especially if you are younger (20's or 30's)

Sweet! I love about 80 miles outside the city, in a decent sized city(about 50,000 people) called Jamestown. I moved up from Texas in June. Yes, the weather is bad, but I think I'm sort of getting used to it. I've only been through Buffalo a couple times, traffic doesn't seem bad at all.

As far as football goes, I'm a Texans fan and everyone knows that.:) Most people are either Bill's fans or Dolphins fans, and they'll let you know that. Occasionally, you'll meet a few Brown's fans. It's not as bad as it wold seem football wise.

I'm 26 but I am married with two kids so you have to take that with a grain of salt. I saw that the population is about 300k so it has to be small. Most of the guys I work with here in Indy (they are all single) think Indy blows but we like it here.

Sorry about the multiple posts.... I forgot to answer some questions.

It is relatively cheap to live up here. There are some really nice suburbs of Buffalo that I visited during my football games. Orchard Park is very, very nice. What I saw of Amherst is pretty nice. Lockport is also very nice, but that's a ways out.

Driving through Buffalo, some parts of the city look very nice, some parts look kind of dirty. They have one of the best minor-league ballparks I have seen. It sits right in the middle of downtown.

School wise, there are many colleges up here, including Buffalo University, Buffalo State, Niagra College, Erie College(or something like that), Canisius, and many more. The public school systems are very different from what I was used to down in Texas, but they are still nice.

Good luck with whatever you decide!:)

Bring a shovel, or better yet invest in a snow blower.

I'm freezing my butt off in NYC. This is not good for a kid who grew up in Texas. The wind chill is supposed to be -15 to -30 tonight. I don't want to imagine how much worse it is upstate.

My advice is to invest in a good set of snow tires. That was the best purchase I've ever made. No one here cares about your sweet performance tires when you're stuck with your rear wheels spinning in place on the ice. :)

    MB,

Do you remember the Rankin-Bass Christmas special called "The Year Without a Santa Claus"? It was stop-motion and done in the same way as "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer". Most people don't know the actual title but call it Mr. Green Christmas and Mr. White Christmas after 2 characters in the special (actually the Miser brothers).

Well, just like Heat Miser, I can't stand a day that is under 50 degrees. So, Buffalo is out for me.

Sorry for the pointless info but, man did I love that special and those songs!

No kiddin' 110th. It's 0 degrees here and there is a 40 mph wind blowing, which makes it about 30 below.

Do locusts come out in cold weather?
