Looks pretty damn great. David Gordon Green is a very good director.

The old Halloweens are bad-ass of course. This would really mean a lot to me if they could do it right.

To the people complaining about how bad the horror genre is now. If you take time to actually watch horror movies that aren't in movie theaters or advertised on TV, you would find that there is actually a plethora of good quality horror movies out there.

Netflix and Amazon Prime have a good library of horror movies currently, so start there.

So, this occurs after the first Halloween film and the second one mostly set at the Haddonfield hospital didn't happen in this timeline?

Correct. A new timeline was initiated with this movie that continues after the original 1978 Halloween.

I am truly SO excited for this movie!

A lot of thought was definitely put into the making of this film, and should definitely be a treat for Halloween fans with so many easter eggs. The camera angles of showing Michael from a mixture of 1st and 3rd person perspective definitely brings back vibes from the original movie. I love how the twisted, sick sense of humor of Michael is back (dropping the teeth, head turned into Jack-O-Lantern) that really hasn't been seen since the original movie (bed sheet ghost scene, dropping the plants to startle Annie).

TLDR; I believe that the little details are going to make this movie excellent. Although after years of such disappointing sequels and reboots I should learn to temper my expectations, but damn... these trailers have been promising.

    Creep 1 and Creep 2
    VHS 2
    It Follows
The Girl with All the Gifts
    The Descent 1 and 2
    Veronica
    Green Room
    Train to Busan

Haven't seen the bolded ones, but Creep1/2 were seriously good weird movies. That's much more my speed than torture p*rn like Hostel or Ghost Movie #17. Have you seen REC or the sequel, Spanish movies that I think got remade in America at some point? I thought The Girl with all the Gifts was really fantastic, nice change of pace from the usual zombie crap.

Session 9 was cool, if I remember correctly. The Witch.

I think "jump scare" horror movies are lame. It's like a comedian putting laughing gas in the audience, you can't help it.

Yeah, the REC movies are great. I didn’t care for the last one so much, REC 4.

I also recommend a movie called Circle. It’s currently on Netflix. Simple concept, extremely low budget, but creative and twisted, much like the Creep films.

There was another movie on Netflix that I can’t remember the title of, but it was found footage style, with a landlord who spies on his tenants. That one was interesting. Now that I think about it I don’t think it was completely found footage. Still good though.

The Ritual on Netflix (Netflix original too I believe) was pretty creepy as well. Pretty well done IMO.
