I feel like if this kid was actually drafted by us this season he would be headed to the D- League. I think Caboclo may have a better chance of cracking the rotation.
That's why I'm blown away by how ridiculously hard LeBron works on both his conditioning and his game. The dude is a rarity.
I assume Tucker will drag his ass to the gym in training camp ,just my opinion, or maybe my hope . But this article portrayed young fella as lazy and childish dumbbell . I want him to prove otherwise .
First of all there is a chance that Chriss completely flames out as an NBA player. Even when he was drafted he was one of the highest risk/high reward players in the draft, so that's nothing new. Its still somewhat true today, although after 2 years the reward is diminished since it hasn't come to fruition yet. With that caveat out of the way, I have to call some BS on this article. Chriss has a long way to go already, so we do not need disinformation to try to paint him in a worse light. The two biggest negative takeaways a reader got after the article was the sense that Chriss was lazy, and that last year his play regressed without any sign of promise. First, I've heard other accounts saying he came to camp "over weight" in expectation of getting more minutes at the 5, but ended up still playing primarily the 4 so he had to slim back down. More importantly, this idea that after Chriss got benched his play never recovered? Yet ask most Suns fans and they tell you he ended the season on a high note, which was the frustrating part as just when they were about to give up on him, Chriss tantalized with his potential again. In his last 10 games he scored double figures in 9 including 8 straight which was a career best. With performances like 19/10 @ CLE, 22/9 @GS, and 23/8 vs NO and Anthony Davis. Not a huge deal since it is only 10 games, but shows some bias from the reporter. Also wasn't mentioned was that Chriss played the whole year without a NBA caliber PG which explains some of the regression. This is what I have a bigger problem with. The article implies that Chriss got suspended for not wanting to do conditioning work, which is where the idea that he is "lazy" comes from. Yet, if you look up details of the incident: http://arizonasports.com/story/1405723/marquese-chriss-suspension-practice-phoenix-suns/ No where does it say that Chriss refused to do conditioning work. In fact, Chriss went to go do conditioning, but only got upset after the conditioning coach kept badgering him about it. This shows immaturity on Chriss' part, and perhaps some issues with authority(not uncommon with 21 year olds) - but not the laziness that the article and narrative is trying to paint. Chriss has an attitude and temper problem. He also lacks fundamentals because he just started playing basketball 4 years ago, this manifests in the excess fouling on defense. But to say that he is lazy or a lost cause, that just sounds like sour grapes or fan bias from the writer of the article.
Dude. I hope Tucker and CP3 whip him into shape, and Clint beats his ass in practice to light a fuze.
