The bigger issue is since we only pay lip service to law and order, we go cheap on police salary and are surprised too many of these cops aren’t mentelly equipped to police.

It's a freaking miracle they got a conviction on a cop in the first place.

15 years is pretty light but it’s a miracle that he’s even seeing a day in jail. I’m sure he’ll end up in a low security camp.

Jury felt sorry for him because he claims to had come back from Iraq with PTSD.

I'd sue the city for hiring such an unstable person.

I'm good with the sentence, the cop was reckless and he had no business just opening fire the way he did. I can understand things from his perspective, that he heard gunfire before all of that and was on edge, but that doesn't excuse his recklessness.

Everyone equality thought he was a POS. His partner did, his half sister. Seems like everyone was equality satisfied.

People only riot/protest when it's a clean shooting and the deceased is a POS. When it's an actual instance of police wrongdoing, it's no big deal and justice is done.

They tend to be bottom of the barrel types. I know lots of nice cops, few smart ones. Don't know that raising police salary is going to lead to an increase in the amount of rational or intelligent people who want the job. Case in point, prison guards. Prison guards make upwards of 80k , any kind of overtime is 6 figures, and you've got a system that needs to keep throwing people in prison to sustain them and culture of sadism.
