I voted for Trump of those three choices, but I would say the true answer is themselves. You are much more likely to have a severe negative impact on your life through your own poor decision making than via any of the three poll answers.

Of the 3, the media and it's not terribly close. One day it could be Putin, but right now he's just not that powerful.

I just can't see how political affiliation colours ones views on the value of science.
    Can you elaborate?

I wouldn't have thought so either, but when we have people denying the climate change science which is established and can be verified, then it is sad and shocking. Almost all of the people in that category fall into the hard right/Trump supporters.

The reality is the Republican Party has been terrible when it comes to science. It is one of the top few reasons I have gone from voting Republican 60% down to 10%... and almost all of those are in local elections where I know the person running and their personal beliefs well.

Respectfully you cannot be serious. Do a simple google search and pages of results will come up. Not to mention simple positions on global warming, stem cell research, the EPA.

It wasn’t always the case that Republicans were anti-science, but it has over the last 25 years.

Trump is basically captain planet villian. Let's hurt the EPA. Coal isn't even that ecomically viable and he is pushing for it. What reason is there for using asbestos? Who is against the global warming.

while Fox Business host Trish Regan was being intellectually dishonest, Fox & Friends host Ainsley Earhardt was publicizing her ignorance[IMG]

when she hailed America's victory over "Communist Japan, radical Islamists", in WW2

Respectfully, I think you should practice what you preach.
This was in the second item on my search for "are republicans anti science" :-
In fact, Republicans have historically been strong supporters of science. They led the effort in the 1990s to double the budget of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), and they enthusiastically support space exploration. In March, when President Donald Trump proposed cutting nearly 20% of the NIH’s budget, Republicans on spending committees in Congress were among the first to scoff at the idea.

If you have evidence to disprove this, I respectfully ask you to present it.

Republicans aren't anti-science, they are just willing to throw science under the bus when it is not convenient for their agenda. Basically, they are anti-truth when it comes to anything that challenges their beliefs.

    *Sigh*
    Yet another baseless, opinionated assertion.
I bet you people could do this ad infinitum, ad nauseum.

It's just an observation I see in Republicans. They dismiss the science behind many things including carcinogenesis, global warming, genetics, behavioral science, psychology, biochemistry, physics, etc.

How else can you explain that despite an incredible level of scientific evidence most Republicans don't think manmade co2 is resulting in the current warming trend that is starting to yield catastrophic events?

I see what you are saying in one particular group - young earth creationists.
Still I am doubtful that they are all republicans.
Colour me unconvinced of what you say.

2/3 of Republican see climate science as junk science led by the head of the Republican Party, Mr Trump. So to say it's only one particular group is pretty strange.
