Trump proposal would make it harder for legal immigrants to gain citizenship: report

A proposal being considered by top aides to President Trump would reportedly make it more difficult for legal immigrants to get green cards or become U.S. citizens. NBC News reports that under the proposal, a creation of senior White House aide Stephen Miller, migrants who have in the past benefited from welfare programs, including Social Security or ObamaCare. According to the network, the plan also includes restrictions on immigrants who have received public assistance for taking care of disabled family members and children, even if those family members are already U.S. citizens.

The Department of Homeland Security pointed to the Trump administration's goal of better prioritizing taxpayer funds in a statement to NBC.
"The administration is committed to enforcing existing immigration law, which is clearly intended to protect the American taxpayer by ensuring that foreign nationals seeking to enter or remain in the U.S are self-sufficient," a spokeswoman said. "Any proposed changes would ensure that the government takes the responsibility of being good stewards of taxpayer funds seriously and adjudicates immigration benefit requests in accordance with the law," she added.

In a separate statement, U.S. Customs and Immigration Services (USCIS) denied that any new restrictions on green card applications had been implemented, despite claims from immigration attorneys and civil rights activists that such claims are being denied more often than before. “Contrary to open borders advocates, immigration attorneys and activists, USCIS has not changed the manner in which applications for naturalization have been adjudicated," said USCIS spokesman Michael Bars, according to NBC.

When do we hear Sessions misquote a bible verse on live tv to justify it, only to go back on it a couple of weeks later and the followers then blame Obama?

That's why I always chuckle at those that say they have LEGAL immigrant friends who say this and that about Illegal immigrants.
In this administration, illegal, legal, residents and naturalized citizens, we're are all in the same boat whether they know it or not.
And not a bigly devos boat but one made from tires, plastic milk cartons and sticks. S.S Miller has a twisted mind and is very crafty at looking for loopholes.

translation: The USA only wants people who will contribute positively to the economy.

You have to show proof of finances for perm residency anyways. H1b means you have a job. Why bring in people needing welfare on purpose?
