Enough of this already. I'm sure they encourage Yao to be da man; it will make their jobs a lot easier. You've got to understand the mentality of stevie and cat on the court before you say such things.

They both don't have the ability to quickly change their options on the fly. For example, if one of them decides to shoot, they have a tendency to have tunnel vision no matter what the situation was and ignore all other options. Same goes for passing. That's the single reason why they are horrendous in fast breaks. That's the reason why they miss wide open passes to big men down low. That's why fans are so fustrated with them the last 4 years. That's why you see so many of us venting and going crazy the last year or so because they can't take it anymore. I've lost hope in both of them.

    I have NBA league pass.

I am a Yao only fan. I am a Die-hard Spurs fan. After watching many Spurs and Rockets games, I have stopped watching Rockets basketball.

Frankly speaking, comparing with Spurs B-ball, Rockets ball is so ugly.

One suggestion: Rockets only fans should watch some Spurs games, then you will know the beauty of basketball.

Finally, with the current roster of players and JVG, Rockets will miss playoff again. Period.

I think they will make the playoffs by default. They only have to stay ahead of Portland, Phoenix and LAC. Of course, that is if the team doesn't tank it like they did when Smith was coach. It does seem like they only play well when they play the players style of offense. When it looks like they are "executing" the structured coaching staff offense, they really stumble and look lackluster...

the thread starter is right, yeah some of it is yao fault, but i have seen many times (mainly by cuttino) that yao had position, and mobley has taken a wild shot, or dribble away, or pass away.

You have no idea what so ever! Cat and JJ are the players that have been feeding Yao the ball the most! Yao is not aggressive enough to demand the ball anyhow! When he gets the ball alot, he usually ends up turning it over with a bad/lazy pass or stolen away from a smaller player.. or out of position and getting blocked... etc. Yao will never be dominant enough to keep up with the KG's and Shaq's of the world unless he changes his mind set and his body shape. It's not because he is too light, it's because he doesn't have enough strength to bang with the teams that use their strength against him!
Once Yao becomes this dominant force, he should demand and recieve the ball more often. Until then, Yao only has himself to blame.

As I have told you Rox fans, what you see now is what you will ever get from Yao. Now, as New Jack mentioned in the above message, Yao is as slow as an elephant. Why do not you guys just all write to JVG and advice him sending you to that dog house someone posted earlier?

Come on guys... basketball is a team game. It is not meant to be for Yao only. If you try to be fair, why do not you also count how many times Yao missed an open guard with both hands up for the ball?
