The admin was warned of traumatic psych ham to children by the public health service commander. She is part of the inner circle. She knew. I don't recall she saying anything publicly prior to the *partial* reversal of their family separation policy. And when the reversal happen, she thanked her dad. Low point of their political career. If it wasn't for the nation's outrage, would she have done anything to stop this? It's clear this family didn't prioritize children over their politic and don't mind damaging children to further their agenda.
her less-than-heart-felt comment is disingenuous, bordering on protecting her brand name. the child separation issue has been on the forefront for months, yet the "self-proclaimed" advocate for family and women had been silent. only after her pocket book took a hit---closing her women brand fashion / merchandise business---did she speak publicly on the issue. my take is that it is more damage control---protecting her brand name---than genuine concern for the immigrant children.
You really can't make up this kind of cruelty. History has already shown that when you dehumanize a group of people (as Trump repeatedly does against these non-white immigrants) you also give license to abject cruelty. The Trump administration approach to non-white immigration is essentially an ethnic cleansing campaign.
