If Melo is like "I want you to guarantee that I'm gonna start and finish games no metter how I play or what 5 players opponent have on court" , than really Rockets need to avoid signing him... but ..... that can not be his mentality at this moment, right? I mean, I can't even imagine any player in any sport have that kind mentality. I am sure, if that was true, somebody relevant would report it by now, I mean that's a perfect story for media no way it wouldn't be reported by now.

We're not missing out on anything guys. This, Melo being a selfish diva, was always a possibility even if we had signed him for the minimum. Now that cat just came out of the bag before the signing, but this had always been a possible outcome even if we did sign him. Now that this happened before the signing, Tillman saved some money, and chalk it up to one avenue explored that didn't lead anywhere.

Carmelo Anthony can go to the Warriors or Lakers, But this will suppress his touches, shots.
Miami can give him a starting spot, get his payday.
With the Rockets he can get more open shots with Paul, Harden. Might have chance at a Title. This is either all about Carmelo or the Team.
Carmelo Anthony is really working hard to be a Starter and he wants a big contract, that's obvious.

He sure is working hard on defense with Chris Paul and Daryl Morey traded Chinanu Onuaku Yesterday to open a roster spot.
