Even though Yao should play more aggressive than he is now. I still believe in him. There is so much at steak for him to fail. Something about him that tells me that he will turn into a player that most people will be happy with, when he gets stronger and gained more NBA experience. If The Rockets lost patience and traded him early he might come back and kill the Rockets with a vengeance.

nope...you sure didnt...or if you did...it escaped me..

if you honestly think that Yao, VG, and SF are going to be gone before the end of the season, you are in for a shock...cause it aint happening.

now, if I misunderstood what you mean...by all measn enlighten me.....if you can.

The followings quote from the chronicles:

Van Gundy offered a terse explanation for Yao's removal, saying that the Rockets were "just trying to win." But the reasoning didn't sit well with Yao, who seemed most upset at the Rockets' lack of defense. "I'm not used to it," he said, referring to his lack of minutes.

This is the first time for me to hear YAO's complaints about JVG.

Yea - win with Yao riding the pine...oh wait - you didn't win.

JVG is old school coach in a new world. Bill Fitch could have done a better job. Even when Hakeem had his days (and he did in the early years), he didn't "teach" him by benching him.

Maybe that will motivate him to do better in tomorrow's game. He's going to want to prove Jeff wrong and not dissappoint his coach and teammates again.

did Yao really understand that JVG meant he was NOT helping the team win on the court?? I really doubt it.

Well, I sure hope Yao would be pissed by JVG by now. Maybe he will be a monster tomorrow.

On the other hands, Rockets without Yao playing well just simply sucks. Enough said!

Yao was taken out because: if he was left on the court, then opponents will just DT him and dare us to take outside shots which we were not making.

I thought it was more related to defense. Rox need to guard quicker perimeter shooters. Cato and Yao would not be very effective. So, they played less than 30 minutes

I know neither of them will go anywhere anytime soon. If this situation continues, Steve probably will be the one let go because of financial concerns. But in another two years, when YAO's option year comes up, the Rockets will have to address the compatibility between JVG & Yao.

Many of you have different opinions about Rudy T. as a coach for the Rockets, but no one can deny the factor that what he did with Yao last season was masterful. His patience and encouragement has gone a long way to smooth Yao's transition into NBA life. I cannot say JVG is a better or worse coach for the Rockets, but at least one thing is sure, he is not good at player development. He has never been a good teacher for the young players. (can you list any players improved under his years with the Knicks?:D)

Does anyone remember the record at this time last season? If I remember correctly, we have very similar records last year at this time. I haven't watched enough games to compare this years' team to last years, but the record says they didn't improve much. Can anyone do a detailed comparision?

I think Charle Ward may have played from the start with Van Gundy. Kurt Thomas used to be a Maverick, so he doesn't count. I can't name a single player coming out of the Van Gundy years with the Knicks who has developed into a player of any decent caliber in this league. This is why I think it's best for Boki for him to be traded to the Suns. He should get reunited with Mike D'Antoni who was his old coach in Italy. Van Gundy is no good at developing young players.

man, I don't know who should leave.. but watching lebron plays, I wish he is on our team. It'll be like magic and kareem all over again... showtime every night....
JVG can finally become the true riley protege.

but to answer your question.. I will just pick ROX to leave :D

Yeah, you can then come here for a siesta, meditation, or just trying to hide from your mom's nagging. It will be nice and quiet.
