Carmelo: "I'm not going to (come off the bench) in a situation where I still know my capabilities"

Essentially CP3 has vowed to set him up with easy plays and good shots.

 

Reasonable.

He thinks: You're getting me at a discount and still you won't let me show you what I can still do. Let him save some face.

 

I really hope we are starting Gordon. Would rather have Harden at the 3 and keep Tucker/Capela as our 4/5. We are going to struggle if Melo and Harden are both starting, it's just too much to overcome. Gordon is at least a committed defender and if he's not constantly gunning for a 6th man award then his %'s will improve. Tucker and Harden can switch between guarding the 3/4. Paul and Gordon will be excellent at defense.

Then bring Melo off the bench and don't expect him to change, but let Paul have a go at making him useful. I think the idea is to have one of Melo or Gordon on the floor with one of Harden and Paul at all times.

 

I think cp is going to be responsible for melo. This isn’t going to be on coach. All the players believe in the system. If he comes in and acts a certain way that’s not helping the team. Cp is going to have to handle it and Let him know his role.

 

I love EGo but not certain he's a HOFer. 100% sure Melo is HOF bound. Melo is top 20 scorer in the history of NBA.

Let that sink in for a second. Melo is prolific and one of best ever at putting ball in the basket.

And why all the consternation and player hate before we have seen anything. Stop letting media divide our fanbase and/or team. Let's give these guys a chance before we judge.

I keep flashing back to that press conference where Melo said he wouldn't come off the bench. "Me? Me?" He acted like such a petulant child, and the farthest thing from a team player I've ever seen. This feels like a mistake, but I'm going to trust in Morey's recent record in making good decisions that don't always seem to make sense at the time. I'm going to believe all this stuff about Paul influencing him the right way and the Rockets using him the right way, and give them the benefit of the doubt, because it's more fun than the alternative.

 

I can't help but wonder if it's this delusion that keeps him from running to GS.

 

Fortunately for him, he likely will start over Ryan.

 

Carmelo stills knows his capabilities ... kinda sorta like B.J. Armstrong & DMo know their rights.
